Re: Power steering plus

You can’t switch it off.

You may be able to pay an OPC to disable it (a software change I believe).

Re: New Member - Scotland

When I ordered my first Macan in late 2015, the dark blue offering then available was called Night Blue (it’s still currently available). But if I recall correctly, the original dark blue offering on the Macan at launch was a different shade. Not sure which of the two yours might be. I would be draw...

Re: Keep your battery healthy too

I have had my battery on charge now (CTEK 5) for a full 3 days and it is still on 6 and unless it got up to 8 and then went back down to 6 it has never got past 6! I have disconnected and re-connected and will give it another 24 hours and if it still has not moved beyond 6 I will try it on the wife...

Re: facelift (2020) Macan S engine oil confusion

I would go by the engine sticker.

If you look at the detailed product descriptions on Amazon, choose the one which includes the “Porsche C30” standard.

Re: Folding Mirrors

Gen 2 Macan: With mirrors auto fold ON, they fold on locking, but don’t open again until ignition on* *this is contrary to ‘Good to know’, which says they should open on unlocking With auto fold OFF: - the mirrors can be folded by holding the key fob lock button for a couple of seconds, they don’t o...

Re: Gen 2 - 2.0 VS 3.0 S - MPG - residuals?

I’ve owned both 2.0 (gen1) and S (gen 2). I got close to 30 mpg from the 2.0 overall and the 3.0 gives me about 28, so not a huge difference. There’s plenty of go in the 2 litre, although it does need pushing to release it. I suspect your mum would be more than happy with the performance. Having sai...

Re: Newbie questions - stepping into the world of Macan

1. Having owned both a 2.0 and an S, I’d say the S is worth the relatively small difference in cost for the uplift in power. But the 2.0 is still a great choice. 2. A whole lot of factors come into choosing wheels - a balance of handling, cost, appearance, fuel economy, ride, kerbing damage. I’d sug...

My understanding is that PAS works in all three ACC modes provided that PAS has not been switched off in the settings. However, I don't think the manual is very clear so I wouldn't like to swear on it.
I agree on both counts.

Re: Do I have AEB?

I have Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) on my Macan, and it comes with Porsche Active Safe (PAS). PAS can be switched on or off in the vehicle settings. Assuming PAS is on, my understanding is that if it thinks the car is heading for a collision with the vehicle in front, it will take progressive acti...
