Re: Petrol engine particulate filters

To continue the theme, I see in this months “Christophorus” there is a short piece on gasoline particulate filters. Interesting, but the last paragraph does give an insight into possible problems; “With long periods of frost and a lot of short drives, a somewhat longer drive can be necessary for re...

Re: Carrera T on winter wheels/tyres.

Winter tyres are most definitely a revelation but they don't stop other road users driving like pratts in difficult conditions and it is them that are still the biggest danger out there in the winter!

Re: Earth to map...

If, for some reason such as poor signal, the car cant contact the GE servers it defaults back to the standard map. You can toggle GE on and off by bringing your hand close to the PCM to activate the proximity sensor and the option for GE is displayed on the upper right hand side of the screen

Re: Bodywork scratch - advice appreciated.

Thank you, guys! Giving me more confidence in smart repair/chips away. I’ll keep you posted on quotes etc. If a £200 job is 95% as good as a £500 job, I’ll go for that. As stated, this is a daily driver and not a cosseted garage queen. I’ve covered 8k miles in the first 6 months already! I realise ...

Re: Bodywork scratch - advice appreciated.

Because the cut goes through the surface of the bumper (and quite deep by the looks of things) a Porsche body shop would doubtless recommend a replacement. Totally unnecessary in my view BTW

Re: Bodywork scratch - advice appreciated.

Smart repairs can do amazing things so I wouldn’t rule it out. At a Porsche body shop you are likely looking at a new bumper

Nice looking motor, Scott. I think Agate really suits the 911 and so shiny!

Re: 2l or S - and what should I spec?

I would reiterate that there are no "must haves" as this is purely the opinion of the poster and you need to spec what is right for you. By all means take a consensus of opinion from Macan owners about what they absolutely would and wouldn't spec again to get a feel for what you might like to includ...

Re: Monthly check failed

I used to get this all the time on my GTS and took it back once to have a battery replaced in the Vodafone module (it doesn't run off the car battery for obvious reasons) and then when it went again I just ignored it. Only had the car for 14 months but the Vodafone thing is a piece of crap.
