Re: Simples fun

Just spent a week on a very small island, driving around in a 2-year old Hyundai i10. 1.2L petrol manual, and about the only advanced feature was electric windows (not a fancy European spec model). 85 ish HP, very long gearing, comical flywheel, go-kart handling. Brilliant fun. Struggles to get up ...

Re: Getting rid of 'privacy' glass

Like many, I didn't like the rear only privacy on Macan No 1 (an ex demo car), but when I ordered Macan No2, it was standard windows all round. My plan was always to have them darkened but the same all round, to the max I could get away with on the front, same on the rears. Such a better look and g...

Re: Those with air, mostly in “low”?

Much the same, low whenever I remember, usually low with Sport and ACC for cruising.

Off road when there's any hint of stones or i'm going off road obvs!

Re: So VW fined a Billion Euros!

Maybe we should compare this with the delights of owning a Mazda with the 2.2 D engine. I've got a lot of invoices in the history file for work on the EGR and a replacement turbo (at 60k miles). The DPF regeneration puts surplus diesel into the sump so over time the oil is diluted; when it gets to 5...

Re: Fuel consumption

I was approaching 26mpg on the way up to Hexham on Friday but lost a couple on the fun bit at the end. Friday evening rush hour always wastes fuel. Drive home was 352 miles and 27.2 mpg averaging 60 mph using Sport mode and ACC on four bars. Set the cruise to 85 but that was academic 99% of the way....

Re: Porsche tell OPC they cannot sell Diesels

Just bought a Mazda diesel and i'm amazed to see that after 100k miles the exhaust is bright and shiny inside.

Lets hope it doesn't get legislated off the road.

Re: Boot liners for Macan?

Try your dog in a cheaper car first, I've had one friend who left his dog in a virtually new company Audi for half an hour; on return the inside was so thoroughly eaten the car was almost a write off. Another with a vintage Passat had to quickly find a heap of cushions to cover exposed seat wire.

Re: Macan Turbo/PP wanted

Looks lovely! I've always had good service from NFU. My first claim followed an accident on a Sunday, loss adjuster was out on the Wednesday and payment arrived a week later. Last large car claim took twelve weeks to fix and cost them 48 years of premium plus car hire so they don't owe me much. We h...

Re: Cabin Ventilation Fan Noise

Keep as many vents open as possible, fast air is intrinsically noisy.

I keep it on auto and the default speed for cooling is high but only ran for 20 seconds yesterday.

Re: Macan Turbo/PP wanted

You can't be too fussy about the spec with the low numbers sold. The sales person thought the engine was pretty much a software change in the PP; it doesn't get a changed 0 to 60mph spec. Having said that i don't feel Porsche push the acceleration figures as I've seen better results on Autocar revie...
