Re: Caught my eye...
To be confrontational The problem is not the car companies but the standards and people wrongly assuming that test results are meant to relate to real world conditions. I would argue the tests results are a useful measure between two different models. To be a sensible comparative measure then both ...

Re: Who Makes The Best Engine?
True, my Grandkids say their Dads car, a Focus is better than my Macan. My manager, from more years ago than I'd admit to, regaled us with a tale where a kid thought his car better than their mums Porsche (or may have been BMW), he wasn't so convinced as his car had been a 2CV, so I guess less bump...

Re: UK Porsches the most heavily specced in the world. Discuss.
In conversation with SE this afternoon he mentioned that UK buyers spec their cars more than any other market. Thoughts. Is that way cars are sold though? I believe it is much more likely in USA to buy from dealer stock, so they tend to have a few configurations where as in UK likes of BMW and Pors...

Re: Adjusting sensitivity of auto lights...hmmm
Lots of DRLs look like headlights anyway. When I lived in Denmark I fitted an extra relay to my wife's Golf to put the headlights on with the ignition (DRLs were required by law there) - it was an official VW mod and I think it was supposed to put the lights on at a reduced brightness, but I could ...

Re: Adjusting sensitivity of auto lights...hmmm
An ex-Police instructor once recommended leaving auto lights off as there is a risk that the lights coming on can fool someone else into thinking you are flashing them to turn across your path........ I can understand that on car I had back in 2001 - they would switch on/off going under bridges, ho...

Re: Old v New side by side
Can't' honestly say that I've found any added value whatsoever from having front fogs on top of Macan LEDs, even on very foggy days (which are relatively rare). So I for one won't miss them. And rear lights seem to be so much brighter than they used to be that I'd almost question the value of the r...

Re: Heater went mad!
Maybe you had pressed the picture of the front screen (max defrost) at the same time by accident? Ah, that's a thought, maybe that's what I did. Too many buttons on that centre console! First time I did a journey where I needed to demist front screen - I kept getting hazard warning lights instead :...
