Re: Macan Order - customs duty

Those metrics don't work where Porsche wishes to retain its MARGIN %. That metric is key here. Not the overall profit. Well, if Porsche GB and the OPC want to keep the same percentage margin by charging extra profit on the tariff amount, I guess they will. But it's rather underhand telling people t...

Re: Macan Order - customs duty

As I've posted in another thread, any WTO tariff would only be payable on the value at which Porsche AG sell the car to Porsche GB - this will be much less than the retail price, so a 10% tariff shouldn't result in a 10% increase in the retail price. If it does, it's because Porsche GB or the OPC i...

Re: Had a GREAT test drive today.

There's only one reason for that - opportunism. Possibly but also due to World Trade Organisation tariffs which will not be absorbed by dealers but passed onto consumers. It will be all dealers not just Porsche. But the 10% WTO tariff is charged on the price which Porsche AG charges Porsche Cars Gr...

One thing he did mention is that they have been told now that if Brexit results in a no deal scenario all car prices are set to rise by 10%, ouch!

There's only one reason for that - opportunism.

Re: Mac 2 on order

Nice spec! You'll love the Agate/Pebble interior, it adds a real sense of occasion to getting in to the car. After just over a year's use, mine has no marks on it, but I use Dr Leather wipes every few weeks to get the slight blue marks from jeans off the seat bolsters. Talking of seats, why didn't y...

Re: Just ordered Macan S Miami Blue

The interior is pretty dark, especially with privacy glass, so the pano roof might be a good idea - and I do believe that it's a desirable option on the secondhand market. I put it on mine, and have no regrets. It doesn't leak or rattle, by the way. Sports Chrono is a delightful gimmick which nobody...

Re: JLR staff cuts.

A friend of mine has had awful experience with a new £70k Range Rover Sport that he unloaded recently after a frustrating 6 months. It was off the road more than it was on. His comment: "So 4500 redundancies at JLR! Don’t blame Brexit, China or diesel! On personal experience - dreadful quality, poo...

Formally reject the car in writing as not being of merchantable quality and ask for a full refund immediately.

Wow, that's surprising, I would have thought all that is simple logistics planning and management and would have been a 'well trodden path,' a path trodden by a 'well oiled machine' a well oiled German machine!
So you've already fallen for the myth!
