I did read somewhere recently that given EV’s during their production release so much more CO2 compared to a similar ICE that the EV has to cover 50,000 miles before it breaks even.
Yes, there isn't a lot of difference in lifetime CO2 emissions between EVs and ICE cars.

Re: What Do You Think Will Happen With UK EV Quotas?

I think ultimately the quotas will have to be reduced, but the current government won't want to do that. The manufacturers have done a good job of persuading buyers that hybrids are "green", despite evidence to the contrary, so many buyers will still want the reassurance of a petrol engine...

Re: Battery location / type

I'm a bit bemused by all this talk of battery charging. Don't you guys ever use your cars? With reasonably regular use, you shouldn't need a battery charger. My car's 6.5 years old and its original battery works fine - even if the car's left idle for 3 weeks if I'm on holiday. If you routinely need ...

And gives Porsche an out when the rear hose breaks and floods the boot and electrics.
If the antifreeze concentration in the washer fluid is correct, any failure of the plumbing is a product fault.

Re: Window cleaner

I just use Halfords -20 concentrate in all our cars, diluted according to season. It's about a tenner for 5 litres and works fine.

Re: Speed limiters - all new cars or just new models

Spoke to my dealer today. Our new Macans - due September - will come with the speed limiter activated on each start-up; though apparently you can programme a steering wheel button for easy(?) single press de-activation. That's interesting. I think I've read that deactivation requires two separate d...

Re: Front and rear cam

I've a Nextbase 412 from my last car, I've started plugging it in to the cigarette lighter socket if I go on a run. Been toying with buying the cameras from Porsche and wiring the front in myself, not too bothered about the rear cam. , If your car is pre-wired, it's just a case of plugging the Pors...

Remember the Americans also have “the World Series” but no-one outside USA competes. 🤣
Have you maybe heard of the Euro NCAP safety ratings?
