Re: Supermarket Fuel

I usually use supermarket 95RON in my S. It's more than 6 years old and drives beautifully. I've tried periods of using V-Power but can't detect any performance improvement, and no economy improvement either.

Re: Alloy Wheel Insurance

Wheel and tyre insurance is just a big commission opportunity for the OPC sales exec. I self-insure and I'm hundreds of pounds better off than if I'd bought insurance from the OPC.

Re: Macan turbo

I must visit Specsavers, I could not see any drains when I had the wheels off last year to retreat them with Wheel Armour They're not in the wheel arch area, they are behind the wheel arches. The rear drains exit through the boot floor. The easiest way to access them is to take off the boot side pa...

An OPC will want to charge an arm and a leg just to check and clear out the Pano roof drains. This task is four wheels off, remove the wheel arch cover panels, check and clear drains and reverse the tasks listed.
The rear drains are visible without removing the wheels or the arch liners.

Re: Scratches on windscreen

I had my brand new T less than a month and managed to scratch the windscreen trying to clean caked on bird shit off. I was surprised as I hadn’t scrubbed particularly vigorously and thought the windscreen would be a lot harder. The Macan windscreen seems to be made of fairly "soft" glass....

If you read the extended warranty T&Cs, Xenon and LED lamp units are covered.
They're covered if the lights fail to operate. But the OP was asking about water in the lights, this would normally be excluded under the "visual and acoustic concerns" exclusions.

No, it wouldn't.

Re: Porsche Warranty

Out of interest Andreas, have you had any claims in the extended 4 Years from the new car warranty? Has anything been declined also? Yes, one claim for the leaking timing chain cover (although this should have been a recall issue). The trim around the side windows has degraded, OPC said extended wa...

Re: Porsche Warranty

Risk is indeed the factor to consider. If you suffered a major engine fault, the bill could easily be £10K+. But that's quite unlikely. Porsche Extended Warranty will cost you about a thousand a year, plus you are technically obliged to get your servicing and repairs carried out by OPCs, so that mig...
