Re: New Macan Out in 2021

I could be wrong but I think Porsche have made a massive strategic mistake in investing so much faith and money in electric vehicles. The technology for BEVs is neither game changing or free market driven, despite the marketing and media hype. For example, the CD was a game changer in the music ind...

Re: Kufatec Speed Limit Indicator Retrofit

My questions were an attempt to establish whether the Kufatec (or OEM) system works reliably enough to justify the expense - hence some specific questions that came to mind whilst driving around Europe last week. I am leaning towards not bothering :D Definitely worth speccing OE as a relatively sma...

"OCT 09, 2019 at 7:50AM By: Gustavo Henrique Ruffo Here’s a friendly reminder that speed and rain do not get along well. People often say that the best way to learn is from other people’s mistakes. Apart from the late Ayrton Senna, nobody likes to drive in the rain. There is always the danger of hyd...

Re: JLR change course on hydrogen

It might well depend on the mega rich oil companies getting involved. They may see it as a way of eventually replacing their diesel and petrol sites. The HGV, coach / bus and LCV fleets will not readily convert to EV. Trying to plug in numerous vehicles and the extended recharging time required at t...

Re: New Macan Out in 2021

I don't do finance - cash is king as a private buyer.

There are always exceptions. For example Sandero from £6,125 v Zoe from £21,920. Which would the least expensive in whole life costs. :ugeek:

Re: New Macan Out in 2021

The difference in RRP between a premium model BEV and and an equivalent premium model ICE car today is so large. As an example, Jaguar is a company that produces both. Their base prices are - i-Pace £64,4495 and F-Pace 3.0d £52,290. So you get somewhere in the region of 65,000 miles of diesel use fo...

Re: M135i

I found CarWow very efficient and easy to use. Got the 6 x bids through and then used the best to negotiate with my local dealer. They matched the 23% discount for a factory build order SEAT Leon 2.0i FR.

CarWow are no good for a Porsche buy though! :(

Nowhere to charge, he says - even the Tesla showroom is without. Tesla shiowrooms don't typically have chargers, although there are some at Tesla Heathrow. I've never had trouble charging in London. There are plenty of superchargers at various sites dotted around the city, so not sure what your mat...

Re: New Macan Out in 2021

Things are bound to improve but clearly the culture currently has flaws and doesn’t suit all. Hmm, but what's going to happen for ICE cars when petrol and diesel filling stations get thinner and thinner on the ground - there's quite a few marginal stations around already, not necessarily in London,...
