Re: Taycan Cross Turismo

The Porsche Post (club magazine) arrived today. A piece which it reported from electric car publication Driving Electric, has given the Taycan its Best Electrified Performance Car. And goes on to say it is the first production car with an 800 volt battery, instead of 400 volts found in all others. ...

Re: Base Taycan for £70k.

That’s why I still have a classic 911. It’s genuinely tactile, light and feels connected to the road. The last modern 911 I owned that still had any real character was a 996 C2 with a few Manthey tweaks. I had a 997 C4S PDK after that, which was faster, but actually pretty dull to drive. It was pre...

Re: Base Taycan for £70k.

Totally agree. Some of the most fun is in getting the best from an under dog. My runaround cars are often the best to throw around as it’s all about keeping momentum and knowing how to work the engine and gears to best benefit. My old dog carrier was a 60 bhp Polo but I really was sad to sell it, r...

Re: Base Taycan for £70k.

It’s still all about “fast” lol. I like a car with a bit of character, something you can feel powering through the gears whether manual or auto, getting the gears right for corners etc. Something that you push a button and press a throttle and go is all a bit bland. White goods as Rab says. I agree...

Re: Base Taycan for £70k.

No doubt EVs are the thing of the future but they have all the excitement of white goods to me. Teslas are ok cars, I have had a hard look around them at Goodwood but see them as more of a Ford or Seat competitor IMHO. They just provide a different sort of excitement with their instant response and...

Re: Base Taycan for £70k.

But anyway here’s a bog standard Model 3P at the ring. Standard brake pads faded, but otherwise kept a GT3 RS honest. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=7BMoprNXZZg I was bored so I've just watched that video I'm not sure that the 3P is keeping the RS "honest" - clearly the Tesla driver knows the track ...

Re: Taycan Cross Turismo

I would add the national network needs to reach places away for our main national motorway /duel carriageway road network. Based on my usual annual travel I would need a fast charger in Mid Wales and North Norfolk. I have been watching the Tesla Network and the sometime promised fast chargers in Ab...

Re: Taycan Cross Turismo

You need a few things to run an EV for everything without compromise:- 1. Home charging 2. At least 200 mile real world range 3. A reliable national network of high speed roadside chargers, min 100kW I would add the national network needs to reach places away for our main national motorway /duel ca...

Re: Taycan Cross Turismo

Something has to be done for people who live in densely populated areas, where there is no offroad parking. Or people who live in high rise flats. I can see the little drug/alcohol fuelled urchins, coming home from the night out (when possible), and think it's a good game to play/prank with all the...
