Re: Macan - such a rip off?

My missus abandoned her Q5 in a flood last week and the insurance have offered £15k to write it off. We've had it from new and it's over 7.5 years old, so in all, it has lost £27k or £3.6k pa. I'm gutted as it was our "do-it-all' dog, tip, holidays, towing, roof rack, not precious about it, car. It ...

Re: Re-progamming DME Control Unit

It seems that Porsche are getting quite 'anxious' that they ruin all our SDs with their 'Non Coded Action', DME update? I've received another letter from them, telling me that my car hasn't been updated (well done Porsche Solihull, for sticking to my instruction not to install it, even sneakily!). I...

Re: Another new SD owner

I've only done 16k over 2 years and not a single regen warning, as yet. A good deal of my driving is at higher speed than stop/start traffic though.

Re: Gtechniq treatment

I cleaned my car before I sent it in, but they still did the 'complimentary clean', including putting tyre shine on (aargh!) and actually introducing water marks all over the car and micro scratches on the piano black trim. What y'gonna do, eh?

Re: Tyre wear?

Seems I need to use a tyre depth gauge, rather than rely on eyesight, as my tyres are actually 4mm at the rear and 4.5mm at the front, all evenly worn? Based on 7mm from new, that's not bad at all after 15k plus miles?

Re: Oil Useage

Had mine serviced yesterday (2 year) and the service indicator is showing 10,600 miles to the next Oil Change. Mine initially said 10,600m just after my major service. A couple of week's later the next oil service has moved out to the 20,000 mile point, as stated in the manual. Good to hear; I thou...

Re: Service items, Macan SD?

4mm at 32k miles? My tyre report shows 4mm all round at 15.5k miles, which I thought was pretty good? Roads must be rough around here?

Re: Oil Useage

Had mine serviced yesterday (2 year) and the service indicator is showing 10,600 miles to the next Oil Change. Only recently did I get an Oil Warning light at around 14,000 miles, when I dropped in the 'Complimentary' litre of oil they put in the boot.

Re: Re-progamming DME Control Unit

If anything like the Audi "fix", the main purpose is to increase the usage of AdBlue, reducing the output of nasties, all for Corporate Porsche compliance figures? No benefits to the cars performance, fuel consumption or driver experience.

Re: Re-progamming DME Control Unit

After discussion with Service Agent, I've opted not to haver AJ07 applied to my car.

No confirmed benefits, only potential increased fuel/AdBlue consumption, unconvincing feedback on performance alterations and no affect on warranty cover - so it's a 'No' from me.
