Re: Vodafone anti-theft service...

I'd rather get a false alarm call than not know it had been nicked. Had two calls in 18 months, 1 due to dud fob battery.

Re: Newbie - advice please

I specced my GTS with air suspension(amazing), power steering plus (why is that an extra?), torque vectoring (ticked box, probably a waste for me) pan roof (like this a lot), dark windows, park assist ( can’t see sod all without it) , lane assist (silly) LED lights (great), adaptive cruise control (...

Re: Crazy Main Dealer Trade in offers !

I looked at Autotrader For my 3/2018 Macan GTS 14,000, all bells and whistles = £ 52k. No intention of selling and content that the depreciation curve flattens out over time reducing annual cost of ownership over 10 years or so. If you buy new that level of depreciation is what one expects. Here’s h...

Re: Chips / Scratches

Cost of removing bonnet, filling, sanding, respirated and full XPEL wrap plus new logos on boot £4159 inc. I decided I didn’t want different finished look on bonnet and sides. Also, country lanes involve squeezing the fat boy into hedges to avoid boy racers in 911’s, tractors and mad van drivers com...

Re: Chips / Scratches

I had four nasty chips down to the metal on my new MACAN GTS IN THE FIRST 1000 miles. I was really P’d Off! I took it to Porsche Reading, had a bonnet re-spray and decided on a full body wrap. No chips in the next 14,000, miles on the same roads. Worth every penny.. it’s so mush easier to clean by h...

Re: Macan Reliability

The only problem I have had with my 18 plate Macan GTS is that I find keeping it under the speed limit is a bit tricky. Thankfully my wife keeps her eye on the speed for me. 😉

Re: BF66UST beware

This type of practice should not come as a shock. Look at the sales of ‘classic’ cars, they often have a wealth of new parts. Best to buy new from a specialist approved dealer and throw away thousands in newbie depreciation to avoid it. Then keep the car as long as possible.

Re: System Failure

I have had similar electronic warning hysteria from a BMW X3 Msport which produced a magnificent display of warning lights about parts of the car I didn’t know existed. It turned out to be a suspension issue which set the whole computer into a panic. Similarly in an old Jeep, a rash of warning light...

Re: Windscreen replacement

My windscreen chipped in November. Autoglass repaired extremely efficiently under my Admiral Insurance. Now the sun is out and hits the glass at certain angles it reveals tiny bubbles or perhaps better described as tiny random sprinkles of dust all over the screen. The effect quickly vanishes with s...

Re: Porsche Service - It pays to shop around!!

Winter tyres - there's a thread on this topic. I also decided to get a set for my GTS and couldn't bear to part with the Black Spyders so had to fork out for a set of those too. Insane? Well having a brand new car sliding sideways at 2mph towards a stone walled garage did it for me. NO GRIP AT ALL o...
