Couple of tips. Turn the ignition on before you plug the charger into the 12V adapter (charger should be off). Turn ignition off and turn charger on within 30s. Thanks gasgas1, when I do occasionally put some decent miles on it the auto stop/start kicks in, which it normally doesnt do so at least the battery is still serviceable by the sounds of it.
