Re: Macans are about to be uninsurable!
There was a national TV campaign, I think in the 1970’s. Yes that far back, that was informing the motorists of the importance, of having a hidden switch installed inside the car. That prevented it from starting/running, until it was made positive. I’m sure that something similar could be done the s...

EU Regulators Tell Manufacturers to Dial back use of Haptic screens
They have said that the increased use of screens for control of the vehicle, is basically getting out of hand. And is distracting and dangerous, while driving. If they want to get and keep the top NCap rating, they must get back to the old way of controlling functions. Starting from Jan 2026, Indica...

Re: Porsche 968 Video
Unfortunately Iain has got this one terribly wrong! Normally his videos are very good and he presents them well, but he should stick to Lambo's as his Porsche knowledge is a little lacking in this case. The car he is talking about is a 968 Sport, not one of the rare 179 UK Club Sports he claims it ...

Re: Porsche 968 Video
What a great presentation from Iain. I couldn’t agree more with all his comments. But the only one thing is they are 3.0 litres. And had the largest pistons in any car at that time. But I’m very biased though. I purchased one new, but the Sport version back in 1994. And it’s still with me today. It...

Re: ICE extended warranty revision
I took a 3 year extended warranty out with Porsche, just under 3 years ago. And TBH, it’s a break even, or a little up front in my favour.
I will probably do the same again, when it ends.
These cars can be very costly, with a few miles under their belt.

Re: DME reprogramming on S diesel WMP7
While mines at OPC, being looked at. I asked if they could do the recall for the Ad Blue software. When I questioned what it was for, was told it was in relation to the emissions.

Re: Driving Abroad
Re the headlight switchover. My 2016 model with candles for headlights, has no automatic adjustment. To switch over, it means physically getting into them to do it manually. Which I’ve never done. I too have driven a lot on the continent, and have never been stopped ever. Except when Covid was upon ...

Re: Handy tips
I’m sure in time, with all this new tech’ coming in now. Rear end shunts ( If we’re still driving cars) will be a thing of the past. As they will have proximity sensors on them, that will automatically apply the brakes on a following vehicle, if it gets too close. Like forward facing adaptive braki...
