Re: Does buying a new Macan make sense now?
To be honest, it’s more important to me that the large bulge in the driver’s footwell should be removed... Glad I'm not the only person to notice this. The reason - apparently - is due to the car being predominantly designed to be left hand drive. The left hand footwell doesn't have the same hump. ...

Re: Does buying a new Macan make sense now?
Absolutely agree on the benefits of an advanced driving course. I did mine in a Lotus Elise! Apparently nearly 80% of drivers think driving standards have got worse over the last five years; however a similar percentage state their driving has got better or stayed the same. So there's the problem - ...

Re: Does buying a new Macan make sense now?
I do feel modern technology has led to poor driving standards. AEB (emergency braking) resulting in people driving too close. Reversing cameras resulting in people looking only at their screen and no long get being fully aware of their surroundings. Variable cruise control and lane assist resulting ...

Re: Does buying a new Macan make sense now?
I test drove a Macan GTS and it felt a great place to be, but couldn't help but feel it's lacking in tech compared to my 7 year old Audi, let alone the newest ones available. I cannot think of any useful tech that my Macan GTS is missing. I'd argue it already has too much - I'm someone that switche...

Re: Macan GTS gen 1/2/3 comparison
I'm relatively well placed to compare as I've had all three Gen 1 models. I have concerns of the ride on 21" wheels and the air suspension being uncomfortable and stiff, A lot of people have specified reverting to the standard air suspension. In terms of comfort, from best to worst: 1. Macan II...

Re: PCP Finance/Depreciation
Current car aside, I've lost about £26k over the previous 20-year period on a Lotus Elise, Audi S3 and two Macans. All cars bought cash. Absolutely no way I'd consider losing £70k on a Macan Turbo over the next three years on a PCP (or losing £50k if buying cash). Even if the car's worth a fair bit ...

Re: PCP Finance/Depreciation
Looks like Porsche published their numbers (and it confirms my screenshot). For the Turbo it's even worse: £68,078 thrown down the drain for three year's in a Turbo. And then you hand the car back. Oh dear. Are there really people who are happy enough to throw away £70k for three years in a Turbo? ...

Re: PCP Finance/Depreciation
£14,309 interest and £33,298 depreciation over three years. You'd need to be out of your mind! That's £47,607 thrown down the drain, as you end up with zero asset at the end. I cannot believe that anyone would do that. These figures are for the base model with no options, so actual figures will be e...

Re: Porsche inflation (sometimes best not to look)
Two golden rules of wealth management: 1. Never finance a depreciating asset 2. Do consider financing an appreciating one Say you buy something at £50k with £10k interest. If that's worth £25k a few years later, it's lost you £35k. Not only have you lost money on depreciation, but you've lost even m...
