Re: Macan winter/offroad tyres advice needed

I’ve run n rated Pirelli Scorpions on a set of 20” rims for the last 5 winters (3 on a 2019 S & 2 on a 2022 GTS) and they’ve proved to be excellent in all weathers up in NW Scotland. The ‘summer’ tyres the S came on were really bad on slush & snow (Michelin latitude sport 3), the GTS’s std f...

Re: PCP Finance/Depreciation

I’m horrified at the finance numbers above, yes the GFV might be conservative but the base cost is not realistic either. It’s a Porsche, list price is a German anagram for starting point I think! To try and put it in perspective I added up the deprecation hit I’ve taken over the last 20 years. 2 Alf...

Re: Kwik Lift Jack

I actually thought of these ramps also, mostly for cosmetic maintenance, when changing to winters etc.. That picture above is extreme, what I was looking at would only lift the car 24”. But if doing a serious job under the car I’d likely have a secondary device of some sort. I’ve still not taken the...

Re: Macan EV Official Launch Date!

Interesting to see that Oak Green Metallic is an optional colour - a stunning & classic Porsche colour, normally only available via PTS.

Re: Ex demonstrators

Absolutely nothing wrong with an ex demo. I’m assuming it’s ballpark what you want to pay and below list, including options but only the ones you’d actually pick? The most likely reason for me to avoid a demo Porsche would be to avoid haggling with OPC salesmen who don’t know the meaning of the word...

Re: Porsche Experience Day - weather

I'm sure the day would be a lot more 'interesting' if the circuit is lashed with rain. However, my point is about a pre-emptive decision about weather, given the horrendous forecast. I don't want to be standing there at 0900 on Thursday, having battled my way through the storm to get there, only to...

Re: De-Misting front screen

[quote Any issues, particularly screen misting, have nearly always been shown to be due to misuse by the operator. How in the world do you come to that conclusion? On a forum  I was not aware you could misuse a climate control system  , it should work seamlessly as it does in just about ...

Re: De-Misting front screen

Col, very good summary. I also suspected that the issue may be control / software related, most likely over complex but perhaps not smart enough! 40,000 miles in a 206 GTI sounds like fun.

Re: De-Misting front screen

Maybe it's because I've never had a car that needed the AC on all the time to keep the front screen from misting up!! I always thought the AC was to cool the car when its hot outside, plus I do think it uses more petrol. The drying action of the AC is pretty much essential unless you really turn th...
