Re: Sunroof or no sunroof?

You are certainly right on the mass. But some handling (e.g. turning a corner) its a moment of inertia effect I think. Height of the roof squared multiplied by the mass. So the roof is the worst place for any mass.
But as you say, perhaps tit makes no noiceable difference.

Re: Sunroof or no sunroof?

I'm told the sunroof adds about 20 kg to the roof (probably the worst place to add mass). Would that produce noticeable change in the handling I wonder ?

Re: Tyre sizes and emergency use of back wheel on front

Thanks Nick,

I suppose the low profile spare is a lot narrower tyre, so fits front and rear fine in an emergency.

Tyre sizes and emergency use of back wheel on front

Hi All, I have 19" wheels on my Macan S (2015). The rear has 255/50R19 tyres and the front tyres are marked 235/55R19. I have the opportunity of a rear spare spare wheel with 255/50R19. In an emergency (e.g. puncture) could I put that wheel on the front to get to a garange ? Apologies for my ig...

Re: Best tyres for Macan dieselS

I'm pleased with my Goodyear LS2 All Season (M&S) N0. They are N0, so fine if you have a warranty. They are the only all season tyres that were N0 that I could find. I'm surrounded by mud here at this time of year, and they work well. The car is on the second set, with lots of tread left, and it...

Re: Question: Macan vs Audi Q5 - Anyone considering moving?

Thanks for that ... so you would recommend ? Any one else got thoughts on this ? ( sorry if this topic is covered elsewhere) Yep, would recommend. I only have experience of the TDI Tuning box though. Looked at a few reviews online first. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I've just installed a TDI ...

Re: Tyre Wear

Tyre performance, particularly in wet weather, starts to fall off before wear reaches the legal limit. Porsche recommends changing at 3mm and given the weight and performance of the Macan that seems sensible. Just a point on Michelin Tour HP. I'm sure they're a good tyre and they carry the Porsche ...

Re: Warranty - what isn't included?

In a recent run-in with my OPC, they said they would not cover: - washer fluid hoses or jets - suspension bushings But they just >might< cover an alternator Apparently it is dealer discretion. They regarded my car as "old". It is 5 years old, and has done 91000 miles, but only 1500 miles s...

Re: Polyurethane bushings

Have you got a quote from a highly regarded independent Porsche specialist? OPCs tend you bend you over big time for this type of work. Yes - very impressed with Cotswold Porsche Specialists https://www.cotswoldspecialists.co.uk/. They are lined up for this. As you say, a lot cheaper than the OPC !

Re: Polyurethane bushings

From my own experience with other cars, poly bushes are plainly unforgiving. They can set a car for great handling in the twisty bits, and point and shoot becomes a reality, but- the ride in a Macan is likely to become crashy to the point of being v uncomfortable. For the Macan, equipped with pasm ...
