Re: Save £10k to £11k on a new GTS!

As I have posted elsewhere, with the recent changes to the new GTS, I think that for many folks, the new S will be a better bet. It’s got the engine from the outgoing GTS, but does without the expensive items that are now standard on the new GTS, including 21” wheels, air suspension and PSCBs. Many...

Re: New Owner

^^^ I agree that the GTS is the way to go, if you can live with the new front and rear treatment. Personally I would not bother with the spare wheel [where are you going to put the dirty 21" alloy if you get a puncture?], just use Porsche Assist [AA] if on the rare occassion you get a puncture...

Re: New Owner

Hi When selecting my Macan I started with an S and wanted similar options to those you have chosen, including PSE and 21" wheels. PSE is sounds great, but not on motorway I would agree, so depends on how much you will drive on the twisty fun roads. When you add £11.3k of extras I think it makes...

Re: Macan GTS Steel vs Air

Hi I have 21’s and 20’s for winter. The standard air plus 21” is commonly posted here as a must have combo, as it normally would give to the best ride comfort on the larger wheel. I have not tried air in a GTS, but have on an S and it was a bit “floaty” for me and more so for my wife, who thinks spo...

Re: 718 Cayman S

Hi The turbo engine gives you the low down performance, which base and S both have compared to the 6 cylinder NA 4.0, so the turbo sounds like what you are looking for. The 2.5l S has a twin scroll turbo, the 2l a single. I have not driven an S, but my understanding is the power lives above 5k. Many...

Re: 718 Cayman S

Hi We have a 718 Cayman base and its an awesome car, we we also use as a daily, we have had ours since March 2019, new. As a daily you may want to consider the auto climate (I resisted paying the cost of this, but gave in) and auto wipers & maybe heated seats, we tried a demo car in the summer w...

Re: Lockdown

Just had the call from my OPC to say that both May builds have been pulled forward and that mine which is June is likely to also come forward. Despite much debate about the pan roof I have decided to spec it so hoping this will be ok. I need to lock my spec in a week so have gone with this http://w...

Re: Personal speed limit with speed warning

Does anyone use the personal speed limit settings option in the instrument cluster, as I’m unsure of how the set limits actually work? Vehicle > Limits > Limit 1 or Limit 2 For example, if you set, say, 35 mph for Limit 1, and 75 mph for Limit 2, does this mean that the warning message will display...

Re: Heated Windscreen

I opted for the heated windscreen in my Gen.2 Macan S: as jaffacake says, it's a layer of gel between two layers of glass, so it's invisible and no distracting wires. It takes about 30 seconds to loosen ice and hard frost, and then the wipers will clear it. It's great: no more scraping - I wouldn't...
