Re: Macan - a sports car, a hot hatch, a luxury cruiser or ???
Several have commented in the thread about the F-Pace being too big compared to the Macan. Here are the dimensions in mm, courtesy of https://www.automobiledimension.com/ F-Pace 4747 x 1936 Macan 4726 x 1922 Stelvio 4687 x 1903 So the Macan is bigger than the Stelvio and the F-Pace is only bigger th...

Re: Macan - a sports car, a hot hatch, a luxury cruiser or ???
Having lived with several warm and hot hatches back in the day I'd agree with a lot of the points made by PJV997 but with the qualification that the Macan is too large (dimensions, weight) to truly play the part of a hot hatch. It could more accurately be described as a Super Sized Hot Hatch or the ...

Re: New report that Macan will go off sale in Spring
I took a look at some supporting information on the regulations here: https://upstream.auto/blog/understanding-the-unece-wp-29-cybersecurity-regulation/ An example of an area these regulations guard against is the recent incidence of Toyota & Lexus vehicles being stolen by removing a headlight t...

Re: New report that Macan will go off sale in Spring
The title of this thread is a little misleading. The Autocar article says the Macan will go off sale in the EU but can continue in the UK.

Re: Macan S Stock vs Sport Exhaust
My S is quiet enough when cruising along and gives a pleasing grown when giving it some beans. There’s no way I would spend a lot of money for the sports exhaust. I would have spent the extra on acoustic glass, however, if I’d realised its benefits at the time of ordering. Not just better for refine...

Re: Macan S - Lockdown Spec
That’s what I would call a heavily spec’d example. Options are very personal of course. These are the main ones I’d delete: - Pan Roof. Banish the worry of leaks - Crested headrests. You can’t see these when you’re sitting in the car. - Speed limit indicator. Already displayed on the sat nav althoug...

Re: Good Fuel finder
I tried this for my local area as it’s potentially a useful site and it works very well in the sense that the information seems up to date. However, I have an Esso fuel card and in my area there are at least 4 Esso stations but it doesn’t show any of them, only one 5 miles away that’s operated by Ro...

Re: 2018 Macan GTS or 2020 GTS
Why the GTS ? An S is plenty enough for most. The Gen 3 S has the engine from the Gen 2 GTS so some of the performance top trumps games are irrelevant. I prefer the more understated appearance of the S. A new Gen 3 S starts at £60k so if you can manage with a small number of options it’s very cost-e...

Re: Stop/start when slowing and stopping...
The Hold function is fussy about what triggers it – in mine anyway. A firm push would not work if it was done slowly. It has to be a quick stab on the pedal.

Re: Stop/start when slowing and stopping...
My 2020 S doesn’t behave like this. The start/stop on mine is very fussy about battery condition and only works when the battery has been fully charged after the car has stood – could be 2 or 3 weeks without using it. If I bring the car to a halt using a light touch on the brake or crawl along very ...
