Re: Why do I bother...My Porsche App problem
Vodaphone are the culprit, their system is unnecessarily complicated. I still subscribe but really only use the app to check tyre pressures after a journey, but I do get regular map updates over the air which are worthwhile I guess.

Re: Insurance
Wait till you get to 80 years, I'm 79 and direct line refused to renew my insurance this year for my gen 2 Turbo after 62 years of driving, clear of any claims apart from one windscreen. Got a clean licence, don't drink or indulge in drugs but at age 80 they don't want to know you. Felt lucky to get...

Re: Macan GTS - spec opinions & avoiding tinted glass
May I recommend you get the rear roll up sunblinds especially if you have children and no tinted glass, I have them and they have been in use a lot even though I have tinted glass which doesn't stop direct sun glare. They are not an expensive option considering they involve a different door card so ...

Re: Tyre choice
I think they may be a bit quieter but hard to say, all depends on the road surface but quite acceptable whatever. I bought 4 Latitude Sport 3 tyres N2 rated with a £100 cashback offer from Michelin for £1100

Luxury Car Tax
The luxury car tax which is payable for the first five years on cars costing £40,000 or more, has increased to £410 which combined with the standard tax of £190 equates to £600 from April 2024.

Re: Tyre choice
The Michelins have been upgraded to N2 and IMHO the best buy. I swopped my original Continentals for Michelin N2s, the difference was noticeable and they were well worth the extra price.
Porsche must have a deal with Pirelli as most new cars seem to come with Pirellis from new.

Re: Speed limit indicator
Surely if you get the OPC to install the software as a retro fit it would be a lot cheaper than Eu 400 from a third party? I have Google maps, the Porsche map or Waze to select from, they all show the current speed limits because I get frequent map updates, but I mainly use Waze because of the addit...

Re: Macan - a sports car, a hot hatch, a luxury cruiser or ???
Several have commented in the thread about the F-Pace being too big compared to the Macan. Here are the dimensions in mm, courtesy of https://www.automobiledimension.com/ F-Pace 4747 x 1936 Macan 4726 x 1922 Stelvio 4687 x 1903 So the Macan is bigger than the Stelvio and the F-Pace is only bigger t...

Re: Insurance shock
The problem of course is keyless entry, I had it on two Mercedes but not on my Macan and don't miss it a bit. The cars involved are Kia and Hyundai and apparently the cars themselves send out a signal looking for keys ! Can anybody say what advantage having keyless entry actually gives you, on the M...

Re: Different Tyres Fromt & Rear? Problem?
I had Continentals from new, they were awful. The fronts wore much quicker than the rears and at 13k miles when they were down to 3mm I sacrificed the rears at 5 mm to get N2 Michelins all round, best tyres ever. My son sacrificed two Pirellis on his Cayman GTS for Michelins and swears by them.
