Re: Powered tailgate

I very much doubt this caused any damage. In order to set the maximum tailgate opening height the handbook tells you to move the tailgate manually to the proposed height and then press and hold the close switch until you hear a beep. In effect you friend has simply moved it manually, so no worries :)

Re: Stop campaign on all Porsches!

^ So presumably those cars already sold require modification, unless there are 'grandfather rights' for cars sold before a certain date. Perhaps it will be offered as an optional recall for those who wish to comply with this new power limit.

Re: DIY Maintenance and Modification

I'd be interested to hear how you get on with your diagnostic scanner, did you mean ELM327, and what you use it for? Hi Nick - sorry only just seen this! I did get hold of an ELM327 and tried it in the VW Golf - it connected OK but to be honest I just played around with a few of the free apps that ...

Only an idiot would fit an aftermarket product grill to an already stunning car and spoil said airflow.

Re: GTS Disaster - Advice welcomed.

My suspicion would be that you get a new reg cert but even if it says something like duplicate or reprint it will raise suspicions. I very much doubt that a new registration certificate will give away details of the engine change. There's nothing on my V5 that states that the car has even been form...

Re: PDK vs Manual

In USA a manual box or 'stick shift' is often quoted as a useful theft deterrent, because the chances are a thief will be unable to use them!

Re: GTS Disaster - Advice welcomed.

Does the engine number not appear on the reg cert and perhaps some other documents and internal Porsche stuff. You will need to make sure everything is changed and no trace left that the engine has been swapped as that could seriously devalue it come resale time especially if you don't sell back to...
