Re: Shamima Begum

Nothing wrong with off topic, but keep it automotive. The internet is big enough for this sort of thing elsewhere.

Re: 992 Launch Event

I only go to these things if the finger food is of decent quality. If mini burgers are on offer, I'm there. I’m the same. Once it was heavily seafood based and I complained. On the next invite I had an additional note saying vegetarians and meat eaters will be well catered for. Original F-Typ...

Re: New Taycan

The charge rate of a 7kW charger at home is where a much lighter car comes in handy. Bigger, heavier cars need a lot more juice to do the same range. Renewable/free energy notwithstanding, it's good to have efficiency.

Re: New Taycan

Podpoint have 3 options, 3.6kW, 7kW and 22kW. IME 3.6 kW is too slow for overnight charging, but 7 kW is fine. 22 kW requires a 3-phase supply, which is expensive unless you happen to already have 3-phase installed for some other purpose. Yea, that's my thoughts too. I could have the 22 but my use ...

Re: BMW v Porsche

A bit overkill for the school run, but no doubt interesting. I still find this kind of performance in an SUV a bit pointless, especially when you end up with single digit fuel consumption on your daily blast, but I'm sure nobody will care much about that. But the thing I really can't get over with ...

Re: New Taycan

Has anyone paid to have a charging point installed at home - how much? I looked at getting a pod point (domestic) in my garage (shared garage for my apartment building). Podpoint have 3 options, 3.6kW, 7kW and 22kW. I'd probably go for the middle one, but the prices are respectively: £779 / £800 / ...

Re: Security Certificate Revoked

I've got a desk-top on W7 and a laptop on W8 both on latest version of IE11 the desk-top has NIS the laptop uses windows defender and I get the SCR pop up on both. I have an ipad and I don't get it on that. I can uncheck the box in IE and disable it checking for all revoked certs but I'd rather not...
