I didn't know Porsche were making the Macan SD anymore. But then I haven't been to the configurator in ages. Not much of a ban on new vehicles if there aren't any being made.

Re: Tracker

The main benefit I think is if thieves steal your ignition key and drive off, Vodafone are straight onto them, day or night. Unless they disable it whilst your your car away from signal. It's really not that hard. I know I'm unlucky, but I get calls from them a lot saying the car's been moved witho...

They seem have been using itterative processes to design and engineer their products, which is not good for the buyer.
You know this is the company that designed and engineered the 911 right? Porsche don't seem to have much trouble selling them.

Re: Elon Musk in hot water again.

No Col, he's potentially guilty of a couple of breaches of SEC rules. There's the potential of a materially false statement made regarding financing (if he can't back that up, it's a breach). There's the disclosure rule where a company must distribute information fairly and evenly without any possib...

Re: Macan hybrid... possibly

@muxty when you spell out the list like that it makes you realise how un-special most[1] Porsches are. Or how special VW or Seat badged cars are.

[1] yes most, not all.

Re: Tracker

I use the Porsche fitted one, and yes, it’s operated (poorly) by Vodafone Automotive (or whatever they’re called now - it was Cobra but VF bought them). It’s mostly shit service. No other word does it justice. On two occasions they sent me a letter - yes, a letter - saying it had been 28 days since ...

Re: Elon Musk in hot water again.

Well, manipulating the market (deliberately moving a stock price by making unofficial statements like he did)) is illegal. I’m surprised he’s not under investigation but the SEC. perhaps he is.

Re: Sat Nav Frustrations...

I only once was stupid enough to blindly follow satnav instructions into an obviously ridiculous route.

Wasn't dangerous; it just got stuck in a 3km loop around a German village. I went round almost 3 times before realising. At least it was a nice village.

Having a Fucking Clue™ is the best way :)

A sixth gear Motorway Cruise at min 2000 rpm seems to return mid 30’s.
