Re: EU Regulators Tell Manufacturers to Dial back use of Haptic screens

Volvo’s EX30 requires you to use the touchscreen to open the glovebox. There are no instruments in front of the driver, and the speed is shown on the central screen. It then bongs to chastise the driver for taking their eyes off the road! Couldn’t make it up.

Re: Ferrari GTC4 Lusso

The comments re relative size intrigue me - at 1808mm my 991.2 Carrera S is exactly the same width as the equivalent 997 , and just 7mm wider than my previous 718 Boxster S . It is a big longer - 12cm longer than the Boxster and 3.9 cm longer than the 997. Hardly a huge difference! The 992 is a bit ...

Re: Macan luxury level in a 911?

Very much depends on the 911. Some are pretty raw in comparison to my previous Macan S. My current 991.2CS is more comfortable (for me at any rate) than the Macan and just as luxurious. The one area where you may really notice a difference is tyre noise - on UK roads it is pretty loud and constant. ...

Re: Driving in France

The French can get the details from the DVLA - the UK joined a scheme covering most EU countries in May 2017 agreeing to share details on request. More details here:

Re: Driving in France

+1 on the Liber T tag - it makes life much easier and quicker. In September we drove to the south of France in one day from Caen - 620 miles in a little over 9 hours in the 911. Travelling on a Sunday helped, as there are few HGVs on the road, and the tag really helped speed up the tolls. We stuck t...

Re: Boxster GTS anyone?

Horrible colour, though it may be a dodgy rendering in the pic. Definitely not a 718 - it’s a 981. The 718 front, mirrors and air intakes are different.

Re: Cayman S to a Macan S options

Thanks Zinzan, good to hear! How did you find the black/beige interior - any particular issues keeping clean, would you spec the pano roof again with the lighter interior? Sports Chrono is a nice to have I must admit and a mix of the aesthetics as well as functionality. Surround view is another I'm...

Re: Cayman S to a Macan S options

Forget to mention - you might also consider the smoking package - for £38 you get a nice cover for the hole in the centre console. The storage pack is also worth considering as there are no seat pockets without it.
