Power steering plus

Hoping that some of the guys with experience have some insight into power steering plus. I will apologise in advance as I am talking about my Cayenne and I'm already finding the steering odd. It jus feels so light and wishy washy, like something from a super mini and not a full sized SUV. So much at...

Re: rear wheels

A Macan was designed to have wider wheels on the rear. Fitting the same size all round will loose the balance of the car both completely. I dread to think what awful things it would do to an already weak transfer gearbox. Will, IMHO, just looks and feels wrong.

Re: Finance options

There are no rights or wrongs here and you need to factor in how hard your money is working for you if it's invested (assuming you have money invested). I think the biggest issue with PCP is that you are always paying interest on the balloon (GMFV) and consequently your capital repayments are less ...

Re: Macan transfer box

These clutch based transfer boxes are the Achilles heal of many of modern SUVs not just Porsche. All the VW group SUVs certainly have issues, my Touareg of ten years ago needed a transfer box at eighteen months old. Clutch based transfer boxes are only as good as their oil and once contaminated with...

Re: Bolt(s) from the blue

I think reliability is all relative. There's no point in comparing the reliability of a 911 with a Toyota Corolla. Porsches are just well built, no corners cut in my experiences from my first 924 which was ten years old when I bought it and was on a completely different level to anything else around...

Re: AC sanitisation

Either you do some battering of kerbs or they didnt do the alinement very well last time. That kind of thing at every service would have me smelling a rat. The AC sanitising is an easy one sold at the moment. Usually a smoke type canister set of in the cabin with the system running in recirculation...

Re: Macan GTS

My GTS Macan, all be it the 2016 version had the standard sound system. I am a bit of an audiophile at home but never felt short changed at all. My current Cayenne has Bose, just part of the spec the showroom car I bought had, and to tell the truth I'm not blown away with it.

Re: Question: Macan vs Audi Q5 - Anyone considering moving?

My SD is coming up for 5 years old soon. Have my eye on a new GTS but in an idle moment took a Q5 55 hybrid for a test drive this week and was surprisingly impressed. The performance is pretty good in hybrid mode, not quite as punchy as the GTS but probably satisfying enough most of the time. I lik...

Re: 992 C2S Cabriolet

I had the headlights done on my 911 and there wasn't an issue in almost two years. It was part of the kit that the installer used so who ever it came from certainly didn't see any issues.
