Re: Really no more diesels this time?

Engines are hugely expensive to design, manufacture and certify so for a large company like VAG is makes Engineering sense to have the least amount of engine permutations possible.

Re: How to get some heat into the car?

Thinking about your problem, this has been asked before, not sure if it was here on on the US Macan forum.

Re: Hybrid & Tesla

Cheers for the post Mike. :D I have always wondered what it was like to be a piriah. Seems like some of us Porsche SUV drivers are one 2x over, first for £60+ and then for having a gas guzzler. :D You’d best stick to an electric bike, Col. And I’d be well advised to teach Mrs D to ride a bike...

Re: Diesel vs Petrol - advise

I had a diesel Macan, I now have a petrol Macan, I am glad I made the change 4 miles and a diesel will not be warm, a petrol will be warmer but even then not up to temperature. You will also find that Porsche have dropped all diesel engined model variants because of the bad press with the VW dieselg...

Re: How to get some heat into the car?

SD had heated seats that could fry an egg. Turbo has heated seats that can give second degree burns. Heated steering wheel in the Turbo glows in the dark. Heating systems in both are pretty poor for a prestige car, the car heats up OK but only when in manual mode, Auto has been poor in both Macans. ...

Re: Fun had at Jaguar with a Macan

By lending me 2 F Paces a few years ago ago, Jaguar lost me permanently. They were hoping I would trade in my lovely red XFS for one, but not at all. Seeing 1st hand how the production quality had diminished and being underwhelmed by the F Pace. We were sold on the SUV concept, so in an evolutionar...

Re: Really no more diesels this time?

I have read that out of the 310,000 Macans built some 100,000 have found a home in China.

Not sure the breakdown on engines but certainly in the USA zero SDs have been sold.

One thing is certain, I am glad I got rid of my SD when I did.

Was a diesel Porsche a contradiction in terms?
Yes.

It has been a case of engineering rebadging diesel engines from other VAG brands

Re: Fun had at Jaguar with a Macan

I went out on test drive of an F Pace and when we got back the SE asked what I was driving.

I pointed to my Macan and said that.

The look on his face was a picture
