it's a very easy job but the pad retainers are a pain as they don't flex much so a bit of a bugger to get new ones in. My OPC mechanic says they are a bugger too.

Re: Water spots on the hatchback cover
it can take ages to get rid of moisture in a car that has been wet inside. Get a wee electric fan heater and set it on low with all the windows down about 1cm to let the warm air out. Move the fan around the car and leave for about an hour each time. Obviously make sure the fan is not pointing direc...

Re: Pads and discs
GWDALBA - the front calipers are Brembo but the OEM pads are Textar so if you fit Brembo pads and OPC notices it will likely be an issue for your warranty.
I fitted Brembo discs as they have no markings or part numbers and when my car was in for service no comment was made OPC.

Re: Macan in the snow/ ice
If you've never tried winters you have no idea what you are missing (or indeed talking about
). I run winters all year round and they are much better than summers or all seasons as an all round tyre. (Pun in there somewhere). They last longer too.

Re: Winter tyres
I use winters all year round as they are simply much much better in the wet and when the temp is a little lower which is fairly common here in Scotland (and indeed in much of the UK). They last longer than summer tyres and IMO are quieter too due to softer compound. And you don't have to change them...
