Map update

This is what is says in my car's Porsche ID: Online Map Update Contract term: to 1 Aug 2019 The world has more than 35 million kilometres of road. More than 35 million reasons for being up-to-date behind the wheel. Online updates of the navigation database are available for the latest status of your...

Route Des Grandes Alpes

Very nice, thank you for sharing, one to put on the list! 😃 ............. The Calais terminal car park was like a Porsche show, quite a few interesting examples there on Sunday afternoon. We thought it had to do with the Spa 6 hour Classic taking place last weekend. :) I think so.....interestingly ...

Thanks Goron! Agree, the satellite view is better on Google Maps in Car Play. But the zooming out / zooming in is not as easy. And the Google lady is bit snappy and shouts the instructions, haha! But it's the more reliable navigation, in our experience so far (provided there is data connection).

So it begins....

Still I cannot understand the need for driverless cars.

On the 2nd report, I wonder where those massive fines go, what are they being used to finance?

Route Des Grandes Alpes

Very nice, thank you for sharing, one to put on the list! 😃 We saw a few white 911's at the Calais terminal of Eurotunnel on Sunday afternoon, around 3/4 pm. Was your lot some of them? 😎 A chap in an older but desirable 911 Spyder said they were coming back from driving the romantic route and did so...

I like the Porsche SatNav - but as of today, Google Maps is available on CarPlay for those who want to use it. I got the update this morning.

Waze expected in a couple of weeks.
That was quick, will play with it later, cheers for the heads up!

I think that's a bit unfair Semerka. We've just returned from a two-week trip around France and the PCM nav did a pretty good job. OK, as we've already discussed, it's impossible to preload a sizeable route, so in this case, as we were following the Route des Grandes Alpes, we had a portable Garmin...

Re: Apple Car Play

Indeed, looks like we have to wait a couple more months for the developers: Third-Party Navigation App Support!!! —————- This is the biggest request Apple has likely received since it begun its CarPlay platform. iOS 12 will now allow its users to run other compatible navigation apps on the CarPlay d...

IOS 12 is now out. Isn't it suppose to allow Waze etc on CarPlay? It'll be interesting to see how well it works.
Yes, it's supposed to allow Waze and Google Maps. Fingers crossed, the Porsche PCM Nav is dire.
