Re: BMW i3s

I think I worked out a long time ago he is a Tesla fan boy and also that he and his wife drive everywhere like Lewis Hamilton lol.

As regards what I am buying I would like to test both the BMW and VW again as I am torn between them for various reasons but right now test drives are not permitted.

Re: BMW i3s

The Tesla residual position may well change soon. Supply is much freer now to the point where you can get a Model 3 within a month. Previously the wait was much longer which naturally keeps up the values of the few used cars. Now if it doesn’t make sense to buy used as the price is close to new then...

Re: Base Taycan for £70k.

How does your big lumpy Model X handle compared to a Taycan? It’s one dimensional if all it does is accelerate fast and that really isn’t a huge appeal to that many owners. The Taycan is a much more complete and desirable package.

Re: BMW i3s

And as I said I earlier an I3S with delivery mileage is £27 to £28k nothing like list and a load cheaper than even the base Model 3 in the UK. The fit and finish of the BMW are excellent which is a strong plus point for me especially at the relatively low cost price.

Re: Base Taycan for £70k.

And at 0-60 in just over 5 seconds it more than adequate for most. My Macan Gts was at that level and I certainly never thought it pedestrian and a whole lot faster than most daily runarounds on the road.

Re: Base Taycan for £70k.

Not sure you can compare a Model 3 with a Taycan, even a base Taycan. Very different cars! That’s right. Which one is supposed to be the sports car again? How disappointed would you be if you climbed into your prestige £70k (more like £80k+ with basic options) sports car and found that it was much ...

Re: BMW i3s

You aren’t being fair in your comparisons here either. How much is a Model 3 with Supercar performance and 360 miles? It sure is a lot more than the £30k needed for an Id.3 and I have seen pre reg I3S from £28k upwards. The Tesla’s aren’t anywhere near that level.

Re: BMW i3s

Only issue is the larger battery in the ID3 is slower and takes longer to charge. If needing the 300 miles range then yes it’s the one but if someone can live the smaller range the 260 that is likely at least 200 in warmer conditions should be fine. Also the bigger battery car costs a lot more and i...

Re: BMW i3s

The I3S I had was giving 135 miles on a full charge against 175 official. The ID3 was 260 official and 185 actual. The BMW seemed a lot more realistic as the mileage seemed pretty accurate whereas the VW could drop 20 miles range after only a 10 mile trip. Both were in cold conditions with me using ...
