Re: What a (good) day

OTR costs should only be RFL and first registration fee. Any other costs request they be removed. And the franchises are required to supply a full tank of fuel, it isn’t a ‘freebie’.

Re: What a (good) day

If you drive at night keep the auto dimming mirrors. A lot of dazzle, particularly bright LEDs on SUVs, comes from the side mirrors and privacy glass has no effect on this. Besides, they are a relatively low cost option with no down side.

Re: What a tool.............. (new vehicle, as requested)

Lovely car, really nice. I nearly bought a CT two years ago....... As a lifelong petrol head I love the sound of a great engine but strangely I also loved the sound of silence in the Taycan. Almost other worldly as you slide silently out of car parks etc and then boot it up the road, also in silence...

My Navara passed numerous MoTs with slight cracking on the shoulders of the Goodyear A/Ts. I eventually changed them recently at 12 years old purely on the basis of age.

Re: Insurance shock

Looks like we both had a good outcome this year, Nick. I still admire every Defender 90 that I see! :) Yes, true Simon, it seems NFU aren’t fleecing customers quite as much as some companies are. I’m still happy with the Defender, love its appearance and love driving it, also still loving the V8 so...

Re: Perishing Tyres

How old are the tyres Simon? Exposure to strong sunlight doesn’t help but premature perishing might be worth enquiring via a Michelin dealer.

Re: Insurance shock

Getting back on topic…….just had my renewal letter from NFU for the Defender, up 33% from last year’s £536 so not too bad given the horror stories and better than I was fearing. Price comparison sites no better, most much higher, so will be sticking with NFU. Looks like we both had a good outcome t...
