Re: So after 6 months....

Why no rear wiper on the Cayman? Is it an option? For some, a rear wiper on a Cayman (or 911) is anathema and for others it's essential. Whichever camp you fall into they are an eyesore on such a beautiful car. An anathema means 'Something that you hate or dislike'. Do you really mean it's aestheti...

Re: Creaks and clunks

Ah, ok. No, it was investigated by the dealership but no action taken. It seems to have stopped, or at least not repeated itself. It may have only been on certain infrequent road surfaces. I felt it was the buttons that were slightly loose and that they vibrated but it isn’t an issue that annoys me ...

Re: So after 6 months....

I wondered about the rear wiper, but having test driven 911s in the wet I quickly realised that one isn’t necessary since the rear screen quickly clears of water once moving. Unlike the Macan!

Re: Creaks and clunks

I'm hoping creaks etc on the new Macan are a whisper in comparison to those you get on a Boxster via the soft top amongst other things Hi Nick, just picked up a 64 plate SD. I'm having exactly the same problem with the overhead console rattle you describe above. Really annoying because otherwise th...

Re: Fuel choice ? new engines

Re your first point, using standard unleaded isn't going to destroy your engine but overuse will lead to reduced efficiency and increase wear and tear. They're engineered to work optimally at certain compression ratios which require certain octane levels, usually the Smurf juice stuff (97+)! The hi...

Re: Really no more diesels this time?

As far as I know Porsche don't and haven't made a diesel engine, but someone will correct me if I'm wrong!

When we toured the Zuffenhausen factory in June last year we saw flat and V petrol engines being built and were told they assemble all the petrol engines for Porsche cars.

Re: MY17 PCM software versions

OK, here's my question; I have just bought a 911 Carrera S, first registered in April 2016, so 2.5 years old. It was bought from an independent dealer, not an OPC. It has Connect plus My current understanding is that online services, ie map updates, were only available in the first year of ownershi...

Re: How to get some heat into the car?

Diesel or petrol? My Turbo engine warms up really fast and the seats likewise, usually even setting 1 is too warm for me although my wife likes hers a lot toastier. I've no winter experience of the SD, but our diesel Yeti takes ages to warm up, 15 to 20 mins in cold temperatures. Apart from the chec...

Re: Audi e-Tron Concept & Taycan

It's a concept car, so by definition it should make anything remotely current look old school. The production version (if there ever is one) will be far more conservative - like their new e-tron SUV for example, which you would be hard pressed to tell the difference from a Q7. I did actually includ...
