Re: First fault and it’s a biggy
We get it all the time on agric machinery, harsh environment and low power CanBus means that the slightest chafe or a dribble of water in the wrong place can cause a major breakdown which can be very hard to track down. Even worse is when sensor signals get marginally corrupted and the machine carri...

Re: Hit a Deer!!!
I'd get a quote to have it fixed correctly on insurance first, that might guarantee none of the mechanical bits behind there are damaged. We had a Maserati in the company that looked as if it had been in a similar accident which resulted in lots of little (in Maserati terms!) repairs over three year...

Re: New gts
I'm usually on 21 and sync on auto but rarely turn on the ac in winter. A common scenario is the evaporator stays cool and damp thus steaming up the windows next time you start. A consequence can be shorter evaporator life as they don't like being damp all the time. It used to be good to run the ac ...

Re: Random oil level readings
I stopped to get fuel about 2 miles from my OPC, after a service on my GT3. While filling up, I noticed that the locking wheel nut socket was still attached to the front wheel! I'd been up to 70mph briefly, so imagine if it had flown off and hit someone! I was more trying to imagine what they'd cha...

Re: The future is green
If Audi can produce a fuel from the CO2 in the atmosphere plus electricity and water it must have a lot going for it. Electricity isn't particularly green at the moment and a competitor using the existing fuel distribution network would be ideal. The Energy Return on Investment for crude oil based f...

Any brand can break down, the first DB9 I saw was on the back of a lorry at the dealers being taken back to the factory. Brand new and dead!
Don't mention Maserati, my last Ford had disintegrated after five years.

Re: PORSCHE PARTS ASSEMBLED IN THE USA
John Deere ship stuff all over the world, thus you may buy a tractor assembled in Germany with an axle assembled in USA using mostly parts from Germany!
Bizarre but to some accountant it works that way.

Re: Facelift Macan to be revealed in April says Autocar
My SE was good and the car is lovely; I just hope they're not going to try and tempt us with an extra 100hp and V8.

Re: Deposit paid, thoughts on spec
keyless start (but not actually for the keyless entry bit)... Im 6.2ft and sit close to the wheel, however it means the key currently sometimes catches my knee when I move my feet from the loud to brake pedal. Try not to sit too close as that is a major contribution to injuries in some accidents. I...

Re: Refill coolant
On the 928 it can take a couple of thousand miles to eliminate all the air after a full change so you might have not had a full fill from the factory. On our Skoda the level dropped so I popped in a bottle of Barr's which fixed it for another six years when we traded it in for the 911. I wouldn't ad...
