That's right, amazing feeling when they opened up the engines to take off.

I think it held about three cars and the nose lifted up to let them drive in.

Re: Cars you’ve become attached to ....

Unlike some here, I am strangely attached to my Macan. Whilst I would change it if a really good deal came up, I like the one I have got. I am not sure if it is just the best car I have ever owned (by a long way), the 9 month gestation (like having a child) or the fact that it is exactly what I hav...

Re: Highest Macan Mileage in a day?

That was quite a journey, i did similar in 1968. We got the car ferry from Lydd to Le Touquet then drove to Zaragoza. There were quite a few dirt tracks once we got into Spain. The ferry was amazing, you could sit in the cabin and look through the floorboards and line up with the hold floor boards t...

Re: Cars you’ve become attached to ....

I always get attached to cars, starting with my first, a humble 1935 Morris 8 which cost £7 10/- with a year's MOT.

The only exception was my first company car, a dirty brown Vauxhall Viva which loved breaking down. It really was the biggest waste of resources I've ever encountered.

Re: Highest Macan Mileage in a day?

No long journeys in the Macan yet but i managed 900 miles in one day in the 928 taking my daughter around universities. She slept while i drove and i slept while she did interviews; successful day as she was accepted for Fine Art (Sculpture) at Brighton. Last time i drove to Paris the road was clear...

Re: Parking Charge Notice

Challenge it if you can.

We've been through this with a Lidl car park managed by an agent. It appears that if possible they'll charge you.

In our case they ignored an out and an in to create a perceived overstay.

Like who'd want to stay in Parkeston Lidl for 14 hours???

Re: Which engine oil

Hi guys, new to the forum, just wondering which engine oil best to use as top up for my 17/17 turbo with performance pack. from looking it seems the Mobil 1 FS X1 5w-50. Any thoughts? I'll go for that at first service; it's got the crucial Porsche approval and is ok down to any prospective UK tempe...

Re: Dieselgate....and interesting article

Cargo shipping is clearly a big pollutant in its own right, but I don't see how that in any way makes diesel pollution any more or less tolerable in cities? It's particularly pernicious in ports. There is a move to make shore hook ups compulsory so you don't have ships in port spewing out pollutant...

Re: Why you should never give it full throttle from cold..

Zero and minus one this morning, cruised over a very wet field ok on the way out but there was only just enough grip to get back slightly uphill.

Not too bad as i can see a two tractors stuck from our conservatory!

Re: Switching my order from SD to GTS

I certainly would not buy a premium car myself and then rack up twice the average mileage in it. As other have said, it will make it less desirable in the future. That said if your OPC can give you a written guarantee of their buy back price in say 18 months then that would ease worries. My SD did ...
