The dealers are in the main very very good and the car is serviced properly, I ran my 997 with over 100k miles on it and it drove as good as it did when it came out the factory.
Do consider getting a porsche warranty at £1000 a year it is virtual complete peace of mind and well worth while.

Re: Summer Winter Tyres
No ifs or buts winter tyres in the cold are like night and day to summer ones. I have used winter tyres on both the BMW and 911 and they transformed a very heavy (and expensive) paperweight into a machine that you could use every day regardless of the weather. I have not put winter tyres on the maca...

Re: LED Headlamp Conversion
Be prepared to swap over aftermarket LED's at MOT time as some testers just wont pass aftermarket lamps.
The other thing to be careful of is your Porsche Warranty if you have it, most OPC's take a pragmatic view ie grills on my 997 meant that they would not cover the cooling system.

Re: Macan in the snow/ ice
I must admit that I am getting some wheelspin and slippage with my 21" on P-Zero Summer tyres if the temp is less than 5C. Oddly enough, my wife's Polo doesn't do that and that is on Summer tyres. I have never fitted 'WInter' or 'All season' tyres on my vehicles and never been stuck mainly bec...

Re: Selling - payment
I picked the private buyer for my 911 up at the airport, checked that he had insurance and let him drive the car back to my house. At my house he did the bank transfer and once it was all confirmed he took the keys and started the long drive back down to London.

BTW I run a accredited product test lab, and see this logic all the time. The vast majority of standards do not reflect "real world" conditions especially the older ones but they are still very valid as they allow comparisons between products or materials. Just look on here and the differe...
