Re: Wheel change at ATS

ATS fitted directional tyres the wrong way round on my wife's Golf leading to MoT failure. The depot was unreceptive to my complaint so I wrote to their head office. They were unsympathetic so I've not used ATS since, and will never use them again.

Re: S vs SD - unscientific comparison

Wheel size was certainly a factor. Air suspension was another. The SD felt heavier in the nose - presumably the diesel engine is heavier - and probably together with the air suspension made the car feel less planted and less nimble. Engine noise difference was marked.

S vs SD - unscientific comparison

After 10,000 miles I couldn't be more pleased with my S. Just been back to OPC for first time since purchase, to investigate very gradual pressure loss from rear tyre. Turned out to be a large nail buried in tread, not repairable. A replacement tyre wasn't immediately available, so I had a loan SD f...

Re: Not for those of a nervous disposition!

I can recommend varifocal spectacles; just tilt your head up a little to look through the lower part of the lenses and the gap will widen. Works every time!

Re: freezing PCM unit

Hi, anyone out there using Samsung S7/8 having issues with the screen freezing/locking up when any messages are received and read? I'm on my second Macan now in just under 12 months, but nobody seems to be able to explain why its happening other than pointing to compatibility issue of my S7/S8 Mobi...

Re: The End of the Petrol Head?

The Government has jumped on the bandwagon and announced the banning of all Petrol and Diesel vehicles by 2040. They have also said they have a £255M fund to aid councils reduce polution. Beggars belief that our leaders have any concept of transporting people and goods around the country. Cars are ...

Re: Various Issues @ 10k

Exposed wiring is normal. Same on both my Macans and was same on my Boxster. Seems odd to have wiring that is exposed to the elements though and certainly does not look like premium engineering. I noticed that on my S some time ago, and was initially a little taken aback. However, as specified wadi...

Not clear from your post whether you believe the doors are aluminium faced. They're not of course (check with a magnet), only the bonnet and rear hatch.
Wing section behind front wheels is also aluminium.

Parking Sensor - False Alarms

A couple of days ago our front sensors started triggering intermittently when there was nothing in range, sounding a continuous tone and showing red on the display. Initial inspection of the front of the car revealed nothing amiss. However on taking a closer look I found a winged black insect had co...
