Re: Macan 2.0 T vs Macan S

You should find that MPG will improve gradually unitl c10k miles when it will stabilise unless of course you have developed a heavy right foot. The MFD does tend to show about 10% better MPG than actual so please be aware that this is probably the case with your motor. Since its introduction the 2....

Re: Macan 2.0 Test Drive

I would not touch a 2.0 litre Macan, imho it should not have the Porsche badge on the car. Why shouldn’t it?? Should a Porsche do 0-60 in under 6 seconds or have a minimum of 300hp? Or is it the VAG engine? The new S will have one too, albeit a six pot! Or is it simply the low cylinder count that o...

Re: Macan 2.0 Test Drive

If you have not driven any other Macan then if you take a used S, GTS or Turbo out on the road the 2.0 will seem very pedestrian and unrefined by comparison. I would not touch a 2.0 litre Macan, imho it should not have the Porsche badge on the car. ....but to say it will seem very pedestrian and un...

Re: Macan 2.0 Test Drive

“I would not touch a 2.0 litre Macan, imho it should not have the Porsche badge on the car...” Hmmmmm a tad harsh. That’s a bit like a 911 owner saying anything other than a 911 shouldn’t have a Porsche badge. Or then that lends itself to a 356 owner saying..... “pah those 911 imposters.... they sh...

Re: Macan 2.0 Test Drive

Nice write up nozydog + glad you enjoyed the 2.0L. From my previous test drives of the pre facelift 2.0L's I know what you mean about the lighter front end + share your praise of the pdk. Sounds like you're sold on the 2.0L now + does this mean you'll be ordering? PS... I'll look forward to trying ...

Agreed and as I’m not buying until the middle of next year I’ll almost certainly try an S in the meantime out of interest!

Re: Macan 2.0 Test Drive

My main disappointment with the 2.0 being introduced first was that I couldn’t bring myself to spend over £60k on a 2 litre SUV, which also steered me away from a petrol Velar. Economy is not a deciding factor for me, so another £2.5k for a V6 S model with a slightly better base spec seemed to make...

Re: Macan 2.0 Test Drive

Good call nozydog! Suit you Sir! As a fellow beemer driver, I appreciate your feedback. I will be taking 2.0L for a drive as well so we can compare notes. Re PDK, did you use paddle shift or just your footwork? I used the left paddle quite a bit, at the times when I really wanted some pull and the ...

Macan 2.0 Test Drive

Looking at getting my first Macan next year so wanted to check out the entry model first to see if it would suit me, or whether I’d need the extra power of an S. I’m currently in a 340i (straight six 3L 330hp) I drove out into the country where I know some twisty roads with a few long straight stret...

Re: Exterior Colour

Don't go for black or black metallic. It's an awful colour to keep clean!!! It looks great when the car is clean but only for 5 minutes. It shows up the smallest scratch and all the road grime and none of the black highlights on the bodywork. Only my opinion of course. +1... black will show every l...
