Certainly makes a wrap look attractive, no damage to mine at 5 years, budgeted for a change about now but it's worn too well.

Re: Average age of macan driver?
I'm so old i can't remember whether i've replied already.
41 when i got my Porsche, the 1992 928.
996 was a birthday present for my OH,
62 when i got the Macan in 2018; on past record i'm thus due a replacement in 2048 when i'll be 94.

Re: Gen 1 GTS PDK service
I would get it done now, it's oil and loses its properties over time/use. For the cost of a change vs the cost of a potential failure, silly not to. Should be glad Porsche have a service schedule for it, some manufacturers insist a transmission is sealed for life like they do with diffs and transfe...

I fitted these a few months ago and they're fine, early to say how long they'll last but the P zeros did about 23 k miles.

Re: Tailshaft Bolts Snapped
I know its 4 yrs later, but i have a 2015 Macan S with chrono (but have never used launch control), and ive had the exact same issue today! Under the same conditions. Except mine is long out of warranty (I'm the 2nd owner, only had it 18months). Have a terrible feeling this will cost me a fortune! ...

Re: Cost of replacement discs and pads
Just had pads and sensors done for £472; discs were well above wear limit.
Pad warning had flashed but still about 3mm to go so not urgent.

Re: 600 bhp Macan!?
Too much power. Price will be ridiculous. The carrot of `look at how much power & 0-60 times EV's get` will start to fade with the public, who cannot afford these types of cars. A Kia EV6 GT (or whatever it's called) is £60,000. For a Kia ! The cars once priced for those who couldn't even affor...

If it's the fob you should check with insurance first as it might be a condition or give you a discount if actuated.
I often get calls from Vodaphone so it appears to work well.

Re: 6 years in and Service price shock
On my 4 year service i had the PDK, plugs, Transfer box and brake fluid done for £938-60 incl VAT. I've always done gearbox changes at about half the book interval. When and where was that Tim? ADH Porsche, just North of Coggeshall, seems ok, should have said i took my own engine oil. Bit of a pain...
