Stop Start button
You can also select 'coast' by pulling (again) on the change-up paddle when in top gear; you'll see the engine revs drop to idle speed straight away. But be aware, as mentioned above, that it's not as simple as it may seem. When running normally (not coasting), overrun fuel cut-off will automatically...

Don't overtake me
This is simple to explain; in this country, overtaking is now widely viewed as being anti-social, a crime against society...

Left foot rest/ dead pedal
It is incorrectly positioned to be of any use, being simply a plastic clip-on piece that overlays the carpet. It's too far away from a correctly seated driver; you can confirm this simply by visual inspection - just look and see the plane of the moulded footrest relative to the pedals...There are so...

As I keep saying, it isn't a matter of simply increasing maximum power. I mean - how many times does anyone ever use maximum power anyway (that is - foot to the floor up to and through maximum power engine speed) in real world conditions. The main benefit, I believe, is increased responsiveness thro...

SteveI agree with you that there is much less of a case for chipping a petrol version, particularly the GTS - which was why I was placing emphasis on the rationale behind adding a tuning box to the diesel derivatives and the benefits to be derived from doing so. The question was asked as to why peop...

IMOIf something goes wrong with your Porsche and it's been modified or chipped etc Porsche will know SteveWIt simply isn't the case that 'Porsche' (AG or the local OPC??) will know, if it's a piggy-back device that is either removed or taken out of circuit before the car goes in for servicing. Well ...

Not Moaning But.....
you can get OPC to disable the stop/start as I have done. It makes virtually no difference to the fuel consumption and is just a sop to the stupid EU regs on emissions. and as my is a GTS I want to hear that exhaust all the time!Very useful to know this. Can you tell us - when stop/start is disabled...

Coasting - how? when? Why?
It can at times be appropriate for even a Porsche to cruise along! So why needlessly burn/waste fuel...? Save it for the thrilling, spirited times that we relish our Porsches...!! But, in reality, it's not even as simple as that...During conventional 'off-pedal' deceleration, there is no fuel provi...
