Re: Torque vectoring PTV
It would be great to hear from someone who has tried PTV/non PTV back to back but very few cars spec PTV. My 2014 Turbo didn't have PTV. My 2016 Turbo did. There were a few corner sequences (mini chicanes) I frequented that were definitely more confident with the later, especially when cold/wet, bu...

Re: Five details I would change on the Macan…
+1. The climate control system works fine when set up and used properly. Really? I had mine “properly” set up but was always underwhelmed. Made more noise than cooling! On all 3 Macans I used. More noticeable when you switch to another car that does it properly. I felt it was a system designed for ...

Re: At what point do you spend the money?
Porsches are very expensive for what they are (easy £15-20k on options that should be standard - consider a T?) and the novelty wears off quickly, especially if you hang around here. Within days you’ll be told you got the wrong model/options/colour etc and will be back on the configurator looking fo...

Re: So you've got £70k+ to spend on a SUV..
Just been looking at some sales stats about the Jag. In the UK and worlwide, the sales have been really terrible. I think if it wasn't for the foreign investment, from you know where, it would have been in real trouble. And maybe as it has been previously in the UK hands it would have gone belly up...

Re: Lane keeping assist, speed limit indicator
But where do you draw the line on driver aids? power steering? abs? stability control? tcs? decent lights? demister? electronic fuel injection? rev counter? windows you can see out of? I'm sure most of us here remember having to use a choke and wouldn't want to go back to a time when none of this wa...

Re: Lane keeping assist, speed limit indicator
Unless Porsche have changed things since my last visit to the PEC then turning off the traction control does not actually turn it off, it just dials it down. It's not really just "traction control" anyway, it's PSM. From the 2016 model, it was normal, off, or PSM Sport, which was mostly o...

Re: Lane keeping assist, speed limit indicator
I’ve had PAS brake very hard to avoid people cutting me up then slowing down. You’d need to be fairly unconscious or stupid not to notice and then take over the braking, so testing if it brings the car to a halt is not something I’ve done! Usually when this happens the car brakes before you would (f...

Re: New Macan T announced
I agree 100%. I have seen several reviews of the Macan T that are generally complimentary. It gets boring when people (you know who you are) continually slag off the 2.0 4-cylinder Macan. There was a lot of this some years ago when I bought my first Porsche: a Gen I 2.0 Macan 🙄 I recall fondly one ...
