This has puzzled me. On our MY2017 S the seat back on the passenger side (no comfort entry) is concave whilst the one on the driver side (with comfort entry) is convex. I cannot see how reclining the passenger seat could have made the seat back concave in this way, even with the rear seat back fold...

Numerous times shortly before taking delivery of our S we parked next to a very shiny Mazda, reg MX54JOY. I don't go in for personalised plates, but when I saw a reg with the letters ODE on the list of numbers offered by the OPC I had to have it. Sadly, we never saw the Mazda again.

Well spotted. But it doesn't explain why the seat backs are different, and different in a different way to the 14 way seats. If there's a logic to the passenger seat back being inward curving with 14 way seats, whilst the driver's seat is outward curving, why are the standard seats the opposite way ...
