Remove the main fuse from the starting circuit, located under the bonnet, the car will not even turn over, they wont spend time trying to locate the fault.

that looks like the tips have been "brazed" onto the stainless pipe, nothing to worry about, just apply more heat resistant black paint over the weld.

My drive way has an incline similar to yours, did not think that by removing you item from the boot, would lighten the load enough to allow it to "float" down the driveway, did it present weigh much?
