I have seen yellow dots on brand new motorbikes. I assumed the bolts etc. were marked with a yellow dot after being checked for torque etc..

For future reference a tyre dressing which includes a UV protection may be worth applying. Chemical Guys products are usually pretty encompassing in their range. My Gtechnic tyre dressing does not say it has UV protection but mine is garaged and I know that is not an option for you. Jeeves puts som...

I'm sure Porsche would have recommending that you change them if any doubt about safety. I have had a new tyre recommendation when tread is over 3mm remaining.

I would normally change tyres at 10 years old. (my car tyres are generally changed every 3 years due to wear)
