Some may not follow that one Tall Phil, but perhaps you intended it as a bit of an ice breaker? ;)

Macan Gets Unwanted Attention!

The low life love the old style steering wheel locks as they provide the extra leverage they need to break the steering column lock. The only steering wheel lock that's any good is the Disklock that fully encloses the wheel but it's heavy and clumsy. Cars like these are often stolen to order and lif...

Hello!

Thank you very much guys for the excellent ideas and suggestions. These are exactly the questions I have in my mind and clearly a structured approach, Col Lamb and AdrianG, is the best way to approach it. I can see how easy it might be to get carried away having fun but not end up with the necessary...

Camshaft drive

Thanks Rab J, that confirms the internet info I had on the 3.0 TDI.

I followed Goron's tip (thanks) and indeed there are many images out there. At least one showed the Macan 3.6 litre having a chain cam drive. Is the GTS engine the same but smaller?

Good points indeed. I had one years ago on a Mondeo and liked it. I got used to seeing the elements though. Apparently the Cayenne uses different technology, i.e. no wire elements?

I did ask the SA and he said belt. However, I'd seen elsewhere that the Audi V6 TDI has chain drive. Is this engine different from the SD?

I crawled all over an F-Pace at the weekend. It's a nice looking car and well equipped as standard. It has a heated screen, which I really like, and although I know it may be used infrequently it would be on my spec list for the Macan if it were available.I'm 6ft 1in and with the drivers seat adjust...

Are the V6 engines belt or chain drive to the cam shaft? Internet searches are inconclusive or contradictory.

Hello!

Sorry, should have mentioned in my post that I'm off to Silverstone a week Tuesday. Certainly looking forward to that and indeed hopefully will help resolve some of the key issues. No Goron, it certainly won't be green! And Tonyboney, I haven't half drooled over those super pics of your beautiful GTS....

Hello!

Time I said hello I think. I put my deposit down on 6 February for an SD and since then I've been lingering around here hoovering up all the good stuff that's going on, but fearful of entering, as I can see how helpful all you folks are at 'massaging' the latest newbie's carefully crafted, but oh so...
