Re: What did you change your Macan S for?
Would it use that much more fuel than your S? ...... My S routinely only does 20-23mpg in mixed driving, and I don't drive like a lunatic (honest). My S has averaged 32mpg over 10,000 miles, based on fuel put in (not on the mpg figure from the computer), reflecting the amount of steady driving done...

Re: What did you change your Macan S for?
I’m not planning to sell my S but the one car that tempts me is the thought of an F-Pace SVR with that lovely V8. It’s only a tiny amount bigger in footprint that the Macan. The main thing that puts me off is range anxiety, remembering the two fuel availability crises we had last year (they were par...

Re: True mpg
I’ve recorded the fuel put into my Gen 2 S and the figure over 2 years and 10,000 miles is 32 mpg. This is using the pump figures and not the trip computer. Fuel is always super unleaded. Journeys are always mid to long as I use another car for local, short trips. It helps that many trips are partly...

Re: Swissvax application
I had mine done when new and the price included a re-application a year later with courtesy car for the day (which was a Panamera). Can’t compare with other ceramic coatings but I was happy with it. The advantage is that if there’s any warranty argument with Porsche about paint (unlikely, I suppose)...

Re: Nearly Ready to order a Macan…
My Gen 2 S has minimal options. Definitely no £££ spent on Bose, Leather and Pan Roof. Ignore the salesman and just order the car that you want. I would recommend the surround camera, though. It could save you a lot of money on damage when parking. I can’t see the point of privacy glass – delete it ...

Re: Parking Macan S into a very tight garage opening
I have a similar scenario with a double garage. The surround camera is good for lining the car up with the edge of the drive. The #1 precaution I take is, before putting the car through the door aperture, get out, go to the rear and look along the side of the car to line it up with the post and ensu...

Re: Jagwar anyone..
I’d love to own a car with a V8 soundtrack. The downsides of the SVR, though, are: its cost starting at above £80k that lovely V8 gulping fuel a lot more quickly than the Macan’s V6 requiring frequent trips to the petrol station. Back in October 21 when there were the fuel shortages I was very grate...

Re: Oil Top Up
My 2020 Gen 2 S with 9k on the clock has just done exactly the same. Oil warning after switching on after a brief stop in the middle of a trip (engine already warm) which I acknowledged and a little icon appeared on the display which stayed there for the next journey. The car was on fairly level gro...

Re: To stick or sell?
The drawback of your proposal is that you end up without a Macan.
Decide what you want to do purely on the basis of which cars you prefer for your use scenario, now and over the next couple of years, irrespective of the financial side. An M240i is, obviously, quite a different sort of vehicle.

Re: Towing experience with a Gen 3 Macan S
I thought that in the UK the max legal trailer length was 7 metres.... That's one heck of a trailing load (length). When you look at it, the trailer is a lot less than 7m long so should be within the regulations. It's the load that's longer, sticking out of the trailer and has visibility strips tie...
