Re: Tesla Model 3 braking issues.

Well if that scares you then you probably don't want to go on a modern passenger jet. It isn't usually the technology that is scary - more who makes and maintains it Modern jets have a much more rigorous maintenance schedule than cars, carried to a higher standard than garages do, back up systems a...

Re: Tesla Model 3 braking issues.

Makes me wonder about the Macan’s backup emergency braking action. ...... Pull up the handbrake switch ........ for those who are unaware of the system. Tried it at the PEC and it certainly works. Probably works better for most people than a traditional hand brake. However something to worry about ...

Re: Diesel recall

But unfortunately public transport only works efficiently in parts or for specific journeys irrespective of the cost. London, flat to office by bike 15 minutes of life threatening travel, using Tube 45 minutes. My car commute to the office in Manchester City Centre used to take 75 minutes including...

Re: Diesel recall

Hats off to Germany. Our Government should follow suit. Only radical moves can help to lower the high pollution levels in our Cities and Towns. Certainly central London last year was way better than 15 years ago when I last worked there, but there was still the smell and taste in the air of exhaust...

There’s nothing like a man shed for pottering around in.
Where would we be without the eccentric inventors in their sheds

Re: So does your car have more power

I’ll give it a head start. Aiming to beat the 80 mph target. Puts a whole new slant on the expression...... as aerodynamic as a brick. I would have designed the shed with a hip roof to make the front end less of a slab. It hit 101mph (they updated link above) - I suspect it turns more heads than al...

So does your car have more power

Than a shed
Motorised shed to make speed record attempt at Pendine Sands
The 53-year-old gardener from Oxfordshire has spent more than £13,000 creating his bespoke shed on wheels, which now boasts a turbo-charged 400 brake horsepower engine that is more powerful than many sports cars.

Re: Re Electric anyone here considering?

Better surely to pass a law against jaywalking, using phones & headphones when crossing roads, etc. And make it illegal to be blind/poorly sighted while at it - we use more than just our eyes to keep us safe, which is probably as well since our eyes are designed to handle roads - What an RAF pi...

Re: Discs and pads all round for cayenne 64plate

BMW dealer told me a couple of times (two years IIRC) rear brakes would soon need doing, last time it went in was expecting same comment, but no - car computer said about 3K left when I traded it. Brake pads are often one of the easy mark ups for garages, so I am always suspicious when they say need...
