Re: More Diesel Dismalness

Surely JLR could switch production to petrol, if that’s what their customers want. The way I see it is that many people were enticed to diesels through tax breaks etc when diesels were not the right engines for their driving requirements and the current mood will rebalance that somewhat. Ultimately ...

You’re spec looks fine for the usage you’ve described. Interesting that you chose the 2.0 wheels when you could get the more expensive S wheels for no extra charge. What really intrigues me is your choice of a fire extinguisher? Do you anticipate a fire in the car?

Re: Is it me or is Mercedes going too far

The look on my wife’s face when I showed her the picture above said it all, she looked like she’d just opened a bottle of rancid milk. What an awful design. Let’s hope Porsche don’t go that way.

Re: Kitch or what!!

Never owned or driven a mini. I’ve looked inside a friend’s mini and didn’t like that the speedo was in the middle of the dash rather than being directly in front of the driver.

Re: Macan S - Sports Exhaust ?

The petrol S I test drove had it and my wife and I ruled it out pretty much I’m immediately as a gimmic. In our opinion the car sounds great without it anyway. Given that PSE gives no performance advantage we didn’t think it was worth it. Besides, if it’s a choice between PSE and leather then, to me...

Re: Facelift Macan to be revealed in April says Autocar

What's interesting if it's true is that it will include Android Auto. If so, I wonder if they'll make it available for earlier models.

Re: Final final spec logic check - new user

The first things I would’ve ditched from the spec are metallic paint and the black sports exhaust. My advice is to focus on the things that improve the driving experience first. Most of the time you spend enjoying the car you will be on the inside driving it.

Good luck with the configurator Sarge and do please post your spec. I got plenty of useful (but costly :o ) advice on this forum when speccing my car.

Re: Macan GTS v. Velar 375bhp V6

I disagreed with the author’s view on looks as I think the Velar (like most RRs) is too box like and I prefer the curvy Macan, but at least he came to the right conclusion... buy the Macan. As Wingco said, better to buy the Macan and spend 18k on something else.
