Here's a picture of the 'active' subwoofer - the silver amp module was dropped at some stage, leaving the sub to be powered by the main amp/processor.

Re: Bose - worth it over standard speakers?
Different amp/processor fitted left hand side of boot. Here's mine: (EDIT: On the earlier models, the subwoofer also had it's own amp strapped to the side (thus was an 'active' subwoofer). This amp was dropped in later models, at which point I think the main Bose amp changed (to add the sub amplific...

Re: Transfer box already?
Have you reset the transmission - (to undo all your learned foibles)? How is that done? PORSCHE PDK RESET Go through this procedure: 1. Turn on the engine, turn off A/C (and any other consumer like PCM, etc.) and let the engine run for 3 minutes. 2. Turn on A/C and wait another 3 minutes. 3. Turn o...

Re: PDLS Static cornering lights not functioning
On my 2015 SD, Bi-Xenon with PDLS (which included cornering lights) cost an extra £1347. Back then, a further £329 would have added the 'Plus' which then linked them to the PCM/Nav system (itself a £2007 option!). My PDLS cornering lights came on when turning the wheel slightly at night, and were es...

Standard. Only switch to inverted in the 'wrong' country - i.e. when driving on right.

Re: The future cometh..
Wouldn’t it be great if car manufacturers went back to manufacturing old school cars with minimum tech but maximum mechanical design which isn’t in need of semi conductors. Manual gearbox box, big carbs and wind up windows! I bet they’d sell the crap out of them as well They do - DACIA. Our Duster'...

Re: Electric??
This has not been the case with used Tesla prices and there are plenty of 5+ year old models on the used market. I'll let you know when I sell my 4 year old Model X soon, but the residual prices are looking pretty strong. Much better than I expected when I bought it. I thought your Model X was on a...

^ Perhaps extra batteries in the trailer are part of the answer - a bit like a steam-engine towing its fuel supply

Re: Engine Picture
It just shows how things have changed over the years. I passed my driving test nearly 59 years ago and in those days it was a regular routine to lift the bonnet at least once a week. You needed to dip the oil, check the coolant level in the radiator and take the tops of the battery cells to check t...
