Diesel Test Drive

Caster. It is a shame that you did not get the chance to test the Sports Chrono and PASM options. There is a marked improvement in handling when Sport or Sport Plus is selected with PASM. Fuel economy will also improve dramatically over time. I remember when I first purchased my current Audi A5 3.0T...

Diesel Test Drive

Just seen your review, apologies for not replying sooner.Good review, I like your style. Go on, Order one. Thanks for the comments + I am tempted - but not quite enough at the moment. Just need to be sure I can get more from it (ideally without throwing a load of expensive options on it!). Caster201...

Diesel Test Drive

The Macan was planned to be a 60th present to myself this year (even if it just meant ordering it!) so, I went along with great interest for a test drive last weekend - views as follows which may be of interest/use to others:-TEST DRIVE INFO Sunday 4 May 11.30 - 12.00 (Dry, Dullish) Model PORSCHE MA...

4 Cylinder Macan

Thanks again for your comments gents and some good food for thought especially the advice re which queue to join and the sport chrono package being fitted etc.Just going back to the 4 cylinder petrol again - it seems to me that this model just doesn't bode well as having a lot going for it at presen...

4 Cylinder Macan

Thanks "TBKBABAB" and "mark" for your comments.First of all an apology of behalf of the dealer - he did actually say a couple of V6 diesel orders had been switched to the 4 cylinder petrol (so they could get them earlier) and a couple of new orders had also been taken. So, apologies for my misuse of...

4 Cylinder Macan

My dealer is currently quoting a 2 year wait for people putting their orders down so if you get quoted much sooner well done. Thanks bompey + will see what transpires. If it is two years to wait for a new Macan that seems a bit over the top to me + could mean a closer look at the new Merc GLA 45 AMG ...

4 Cylinder Macan

I believe the proposed 2 litre diesel will offer better value than the petrol when announced. It may not be as quick 0-60 but the fuel economy should be much better. I also do not think there will be a huge difference in price, if any. Got to agree with everything you say there mate + that could be ...

4 Cylinder Macan

Caster. You will not get to test a 4 cylinder for a good while yet. Even the press have not driven them. It is suspected that the allocation of 4 cylinder Macans to established markets will be limited and priority given to Far East markets. Hence why the 4 cylinder is a special order in the UK.Thank...

4 Cylinder Macan

Thanks guys - I take it the 4 cylinder doesn't stack up against the V6 diesel then. So, guess I might have to wait a year or two for a new diesel or take a trip up to Edinburgh via the Auto Trader route for a quicker one!Mind you - could still be tempted by a 4 cylinder petrol as an "interim" - will...

4 Cylinder Macan

Arranged a test drive for next weekend in the V6 diesel but now intrigued by the 4 cylinder petrol version - although I'm slightly confused as it seems to be offered with a couple of different options as follows:- 1. 4 cylinder petrol includes cruise as standard whereas it appears to be £300+ on V6 ...
