Re: Macan Security

In the good (bad) old 80’s days when every hot-hatch was a target, I used to take the fuse out of the fuel pump relay of my Golf GTI 😁

Re: Tyre Dust Covers

I also seem to remember that plastic TPMS valve caps (grey) have a couple of seals over standard (black) to better protect against water ingress and help prevent pressure leakage. There are indeed warnings on several tyre fitting websites against fitting ‘metal’ valve caps to TPMS systems.

Re: Tyre Dust Covers

Somebody pinched all 4 of our dust caps a while ago on our other car! I seem to remember after a bit of research that there are ‘special’ caps to suit TPMS? Not sure why they should need to be ‘special’ given that TPMS has been mandated for years but possibly a consideration?

Re: Just joined forum, having bought first Macan - 66 plate SD!

Welcome. We have a similar age petrol S which we have had from new and have continued to update the Porsche warranty (thus far covered a new transfer box, drivers door window seal, brake wear limiter cable and clam shell hood rubbers) On our last Porsche warranty renewal, they were happy to extend i...

Re: TPMS registering to wrong wheel in PCM

It seems very strange though, as the wheels are offset (wider at rear) they would have had to change the sensors around if they are still the originals? Not sure you would need to completely remove sensors to change tyres but anything is possible I guess? Be warned though OEM TPMS from Porsche VERY ...

Re: TPMS registering to wrong wheel in PCM

My guess is that they have either:
Replaced original TPMS with aftermarket ones which will require coding for each wheel?
Swapped TPMS around and confused the system?
I guess you have tried a full re-set when the car is stationary?
Maybe a return visit to supplier or they can pay for OPC reset?

Re: Car Theft

Most people (me included!) are used to/ignore standard alarms (car or house) and as they are limited to dB output they are almost useless. If I see or hear someone outside and set this baby off I can guarantee everyone within a 5 mile radius will be looking through their windows😜. And you can guaran...

Re: Car Theft

We have these and a ‘PANIC’ 130 decibel (VERY LOUD) alarm fire horn fitted on house linked to phone.) This sounds very interesting. Do you have a link or more info please? PM if you prefer. Thank you I installed this. EXTREMELY LOUD! Set up as quick action on my phone through HIVE plug in switch. C...

Re: Car Theft

We have cameras around the house and have spotted ‘opportunist’ thieves trying car doors and home front doors! Police advice was: 1. Keep ‘keyless’ car keys away from front door/windows to hinder ‘laptop relay theft’ and/or place in metal tin. 2. Cover car if possible. 3. Home lights on - Hive etc, ...
