Re: Dozens of annoying things about...

One thing I'd add to this list of annoyances is the sensitivity of the auto headlight sensor (plus the fact that you cannot control the sensitivity at all). This is especially noticeable later in the afternoon when eg around 4 or 5pm in midsummer the sensor decides that it's dark enough that headlig...

Re: Pro Corbyn think tank.

I wouldn't expect Corbyn to be in power for too many years after the next election though. Maybe 2 or 3 years? Difficult to see much beyond that or what the balance of Parliament might look like when there's only rump England to worry about.

Re: Tax

Whilst I agree to a large extent, there is a marginal effect whereby marginal buyers are turned away. Others decide to retain current cars rather than buy facelift. That affects demand and the market turns with knock-on effects through used prices and resale values. I'd go along with this too. It's...

Re: J. D. Power 2019 Dependability Study

I guess one conclusion from that JD Power table is that all modern cars are relatively problem-free, at least for the first three years. In round numbers, the best makes have only one fault in the survey period while those towards the bottom of the list have two. Not a huge difference really. Given ...

Re: New SQ5?

The Macan is even more dated, if that matters to you. Very true. And that's one of the reasons I'm moving on from my 2016 Macan :) . At least the Macan infotainment screen is integrated into the main dash rather than being an afterthought as in the Q5. But all the buttons in the Macan are an ergono...

NB This is based on US options of course so doesn't totally map 1:1 with what's on offer in the UK, but most of it is the same or similar.

Re: New SQ5?

Problem with Q5/SQ5 is that the interior is starting to get rather dated, if that matters to you. It may have a great new diesel engine but the inside styling, infotainment etc has yet to catch up.

Re: Jerky acceleration

When my SD was in for the warranty check recently, I think the latest software update was done. Ever since I've noticed that it seems to perform a little better but less smooth changes at low speed. Perkier but jerkier™.

Re: Macan SD replacement - where next?

Looking to upgrade my 2017 Macan SD purchased cash for something more roomy in teh back for my two daughter (11&15). Interesting isn't it how our requirements vary. My 2016 SD has served me well but I find myself keen to find something a little smaller (shorter and slightly narrower) and lighte...
