Hi all,

Time to say hello after I collected my first Porsche this week, 19 plate Macan S. I’ve taken a lot of great info from the forum so delighted to now be a member.

I was driving a 2014 Q5 (have two young kids...) and had been looking to change for a few months. Considered a Levante, Velar, C43, F Pace, before finally settling on the Macan. I’d initially ruled it out as more than I wanted to spend, but the man maths came through strong and the numbers suddenly all worked :D

Love the car so far, the engine is great, much smoother ride than the Q5, and the handling is fantastic. Having a couple of issues with CarPlay connection but I’m sure that will get sorted.

Spec is:
Volcano grey with full leather, 19” wheels, Pan roof, PASM, Surroundview, heated seats, heated steering wheel (love it!), a few other bits and bobs. I might upgrade to 20” RS Spyders at some point.

Had a really good buying experience with Porsche South London, well looked after by Joseph.

A warm welcome and a sound choice from your short list of alternatives.

Wishing you much enjoyment as you get to know your Macan better.

I wouldn't worry too much about going to 20" wheels unless you're sure of decent quality roads.

They're quite potholed here in Essex so i went for the smallest rim / highest profile available.

Love the surround view.

Yes, often use sport + ACC on motorway.

On the other hand for a long sedate drive through France the air is amazingly comfortable.

Hope we're allowed to do that again one day as i'm expecting a French grandchild in November!

I don't find the 21s that bad, so 20s must be really comfortable.

Agreed and I rode in the back of ours for the first time last week and I thought “nice car!”
