Hi All,
I am looking at purchasing a secondhand base (2litre) Macan ( in Australia) and was wondering if the My 19 with the mild facelift is worth the extra outlay ? From my analysis it appears the differences are largely cosmetic ( new LED lights front and rear) and an upgraded infotainment system. No changes were made to the engine or gearbox. The initial launch of the MY19 indicated there were changes made to the suspension too, but from reading a few forums, it doesn't appear to have made a big difference to ride comfort, so maybe not a consideration?

The upgraded entertainment system looks nice with wireless appleplay , but I understand I can get Appleplay installed on the earleir models (working with a cable though), so not such a big difference.

Spec wise in Australia the MY 19 model scored 14 way electric seats, Surround View (360 degree camera), dipping rear view mirrors on reverse, Lane Change Assist(LCA) as standard over the MY18.

I'd be pleased to hear if any owners of both the previous Macan and the facelifted Macans have noticed any signifcant changes that would warrant spending more to get a facelifted (My19+) model?

Welcome to the forum.

I can't help you much because i went from a 2015 SD to a 2020 GTS. Depending on the price difference, I would have thought comfort seats, surround view and Lance Change Assist are worth having.

The price difference is fairly steep here. About AUD15,000 to AUD 20,000 ( GBP 8,200 to GBP11,000) so much more than the few additional items.

Hi Papeto

Welcome to the forum

Here is a video which goes through the changes in detail

Its from a NZ based owner so assume the Australian spec would be pretty similar.

Hope that helps

Sorry, my mistake.

Just heard the accent and assumed they were NZ based.

Think the video is still relevant though

Thanks Botis. Its interesting that he has noticed the better suspension set up. I may wait until the new year to pull the trigger and hopefully the My19 prices will drop.

The suspension is now Aluminium rather than Steel I believe and is meant to be much better. I have only driven a new S so I cant comment on if that is true.

I love Nick to bits and watch all his content, but he contradicts himself a lot regarding ride quality - can't seem to make his mind up.

I thought the 2.0 was a new/different engine too?
